Samplenhold, it sounds like you know a lot about BOTs and thats fine, more power to you. Just to make it clear I didn't come searching for this webpage, sign-on and start reading threads. I got here because this thread was in the list of results after I Googled the issue about the unidentified device connected to my home wifi. Google is a search engine that is very useful in this regard. Despite the thread being stale, your words not mine, the thread gave me some clues. I bookmarked the link and about an hour later I identified the mystery device on my wifi. Then I thought to myself, maybe if I detail my findings in the thread somebody else in the future, next week, next year, who knows, Googles the same problem and might find the updated thread of use. To do that I had to join the forum, guilty as charged. If, say, in the future the security cam system in my house stops working and displays an error code on the screen that is not in the manual. The first thing I'm going to do is Google it. If at the top of the results is a link to a forum that discusses said issue and it happens to be 5 years old, I'll probably still look at it. If you're that concerned about old threads being attacked by BOTs then I'd encourage you to contact the web page administrators and get the threads archived. T
