I have a N6200-8E NVR going into a WiFi extender, CAT 5 to the NVR, and a HDMI cable into a smart tv. I get two lower rez cameras 5MP that work good. One low rez that shows scrambled. Two higher rez PTZ 5MP cameras that are blank (Chan. 1&2). One higher rez PTZ camera that looks scrambled (Chan 6). All 6 are set to search on ONVIF.
What am I doing wrong? Video setup in the NVR or in the cameras? Main stream or second stream? What would be the best video main and second stream setup for this NVR? I can see the cameras on my iPhone CamHi app just fine.
Thanks for your help.

MUCH more info needed:
  • Camera makes and models (defined by image or display issues)
  • Sketch of how all is connected (are they all wireless ?), also defined by display issues
  • Is this NVR new and you're just setting up or it was working OK until recently when a cam was added or something else changed?

Thanks TonyR for your reply back. It’s much appreciated.
The 3 cameras are “Generic” models in 8389.jpeg and the other 3 cameras are “Unbranded” models in 8390.jpeg. I bought them because they worked well using CamHi app. All cameras are WiFi and they work great using the app.
I don’t know how to make a sketch of the hardware so I’ll explain it. I pick up a wireless signal using a Bros Trend AC1200 Ethernet to Wi-Fi Adapter. I use a CAT5 cable between the AC1200 to the N2600 NVR. Out of the NVR I use a HDMI cable to the smart tv.
The NVR is new and first time used. I need to set up the NVR and cameras to work with the NVR and iPhone app. Not sure what is best video setup.
Also my internet speed is >560 Mbps.

It's likely that with the main stream you're exceeding the bandwidth of the NVR. Also not helping much with all of them Wi-Fi. The app works most likely because of sub stream.

Until you use wired connections with a name brand NVR and POE cameras you're probably not going to achieve satisfactory images.

Is any of this equipment new?

Thanks again.
Everything was new when I bought the equipment. The cameras were all new but bought months apart due to lack of funds. All cameras no more than 6 months old. The NVR and WiFi adapter bought new one week ago.
I will try and swap the main stream to sub to see how that works.
I appreciate the help.

No Joy. Every camera set to sub stream. The values are copied from the two working streams. Not sure what I’m gonna do next.

Disable the working cameras temporarily and try this:

On the non-working cams:
  • Set bit rate to 2048
  • Set max frame rate to 15
  • Set key frame interval to 15
  • Set bit rate control to CBR
  • Save
Some improvement. I now have 3 out of 6 screens working. I’ll keep working on each camera problem.
