Good day,

Just installed SmartPSS and am trying to connect to my unbranded DVR.
I have it working with CMS software at the moment and has been working for the past 2 or 3 years.
I have 2 unbranded IP cameras attached to the DVR which I can see and playback footage saved on the DVR from both cameras.

My problem with SmartPSS is that none of my devices are detected. I have also manually entered the details of my DVR but with no luck. It keeps showing up as offline.
I read that the problem could be because something is already connected to the DVR so I have logged out and disconnected CMS. Sadly, the problem persists.

I have seen YouTube videos of people clocking the auto-search button and a tonne of devices, including IP cameras show up, and I am getting nothing.
My devices are all set to manual IP address and there are no conflicts.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you certain the SmartPSS computer is on the same network segment as the devices you're hoping to see?

I can ping all the devices on my network and can still connect using CMS
Auto search gives me zero results!

Sounds like your unbranded NVR is not compatible with Smart PSS.
What CMS software are you using?

It's called "CMS" :)

Unfortunately Smart PSS is not universal for different brands of NVRs. It's designed for Dahua or it's sub brands.

Are your cameras plugged into a Dahua NVR? If so, you need to add the NVR to SmartPSS.

Ir are they plugged into an external switch? If so do you know if they are on the same network segment as your SmartPSS machine?

Ok so the cameras are on an external switch.

Did they used to work but suddenly stopped? Or is this the first time you’ve connected them?

Bottom line is your cameras need to be on the same network as whatever machine is running SmartPSS. The config tool should allow you to change them if needed.

On Smart Pss Lite, the auto search works seamlessly. Cameras are on the same network. I check my firewall and allowed apps.

Hard to say. Assuming you know they have power.

How many of these wifi cams do you have running?
What model are they?

You could go into your router and see if they are connecting to your network first. If not, I would think rebooting the cameras manually would be the first step. Too many possibilities to know more..

Thank you! I will give it a try. I have 8 outdoor cameras. I am going to scope out my router and see if it is blocking, then reboot all cameras.
