I have Hikvision DS-7616NI-Q2/16P 16Ch 8MP POE NVR. Some cameras that are external in the building are not been powered by the poe ports on the nvr.. but when i plug in another nvr it works.

My question is if the poe would is not strong enough to go far or its a fault

For plug and play cameras like you have at the moment, the password of cameras and nvr must match. I would assume nvr 1 + cams have diff passwords and nvr 2 + cams have same pw so they would show up

Thanks much. Is there a way to reset the camera password to default using the new NVR or an App or something?

You might need to get in touch with whoever you got those cameras from for password reset.

However, depends on camera model, there might be a hard reset button somewhere on the camera - you have not posted camera model so I have no idea - if they do have reset button. most likely on the same area as internal SD drive.

If your cameras have hard reset button, here is how you do it (you might need a flathead or a very small tipped tool to do this)

How to hard reset: unplug camera power, hold reset button for 5 seconds and then plug camera to power while still pressing the reset button, do not let go off the reset button and continuously hold for another 45seconds

Those are dahua cameras. They will not work plug and play with hikvision nvr (manufactures blocks plug and play cameras from other manufactures)

what you need to do is to put them on a poe switch and on the same network. you need cameras' password. you need to be able to re-ip dahua cameras to the same ip scheme as the nvr. Then you can add cameras into nvr using ONVIF protocol and new local IP addresses

Yes I have done this but now I don't have password for the camera since it has been active on another nvr that I don't have its password
Now I need something to reset the camera password. I tried the dahua configtool and yet I can't export the camera info in its path folder
I need someway to reset the camera password
