You can recover IE on any system. Unfortunately MS will regularly remove it with updates.

There are tutorials out there on how to do this but basically you create a simple script that points to IE which is still hidden in the OS and create a desktop link.

1) I actually work for microsoft... it won't last forever
2) I run macOS

Yea, sadly that doesn't exist on mac Edge, for obvious reasons.
