It would help if you could clarify how you are watching the videos, on the BI console, or UI3?

What are the specs of your BI PC, is it running on a VM or an actual PC.

Are you recording at a high frame rate or resolution?

Are your recording using BVR or some other format?

Any of these things (and possible a lot more) could have an impact on your issue!

I have the same concern.
I have had my BI running for about 5 1/2 years.
At first I never ran into the orange clock (didn't even know what it was!) and I was running 20 cameras (dahua/hykvision) at 2160p 10 frames/sec on UI3, now I get the orange clock several times a day or more running 4 Amcrest cameras at 480p at 6 frames/sec.
This behavior started about 2 years ago. The orange clock and I have become good friends.

I posted about it on this forum around that time. I got the standard "check your firmware", etc responses. At that time I had a 4th generation mesh Orbi (RBK50). I also had a very extensive home automation setup running. In the end I chalked it up to an overloaded router.
Fast forward to today and I am in the middle of a very large remodel. So my home automation network is offline. Further, I have purchased a 6th generation Orbi (RBK852). One of my apple tablets expired so I replaced it with a new one. I also replaced my Samsung tab with a Samsung Galaxy Tab A (they all run UI3). But even with the reduced traffic and many new components, I get the orange clock just as often as when I was running my RBK50.

Basically I just run the UI3 at 480p (6 frames per second) and have turned down the cameras to 6 frames per second (with matching key frames of course). Its grainy and jerky, but at least it works.

My computer is no slouch. I paid $2,800.00 USD for it from a local shop that purpose built it for BI.
It runs absolutely nothing else other than BI. It never ran any other software, this machine is 100% dedicated to BI and was custom built to only run BI. Here are some of the specs for it (no VM):
I7-10700K (10 cores / 20 threads) (no 'F' or 'T')
16GB RAM
SSD NVMe dedicated for the new, BI, etc.
SSD NVMe dedicated for the OS
HDD Purple Surveillance WD 8TB for database.
I record BVR, direct to disc

Again, for about 2 1/2 years it all worked well, then the frame rates began to suffer. I just decided it was an overloaded network. But now that I have a new router and very few things on the network and a new router, the behavior is the same. I have reinstalled BI twice. And YES! I restart my BI machine about twice a week. Always have. And YES! I have always tried to keep BI up to date (I pay for support). Currently I am running 5.8.9.5

I think it is an issue with an update. I have two running and one on an older version (prior to codeproject on a 4th gen) is fine and the one on the latest stable release has the issue.

i don't think you have other alternative other than ui3 for remote view :-D
i have a dedicated server for that and i record using bvr format

You can use the Blue Iris app to view cameras (on android or apple)
You can log onto the Blue Iris server via VPN to view cameras (from just about anything)
And of course, you can use the browser based UI3 approach to view cameras (Firefox/Chrome/Edge/Opera/etc)

Each approach has different characteristics when viewing such as lag, resolution, performance, etc
