Any chance of an "animal" firmware for this series of cameras? Love this firmware on the 5442 S3 series, not sure if it is technically possible.

If not, are there any settings that would get close to this functionality?

We have to wait to see if Dahua decides to do that with their full color and PTZ cameras with the new GUI.

I won a 4k-T180 in the lottery :), and have confirmed it is totally blind to animals :(, even with the object filters supposedly off. It is extremely good at detecting people, even far in the distance and teeny in the image. I haven't found any settings to help, including cranking all of the IVS sensitivity settings to 10. I will once again try dumb motion detection, which I've given up on every time in the past. I'd be ecstatic if this camera (and the 4k-x) could detect animals with IVS. Even just shutting off the object filters would be good enough for me.

Problem with Color4K is that this is deprecated camera by Dahua...
About half year ago all 5xx9 Full Color line (with exception of 180 cams) were replaced by new S2 variant with much powerful SOC/CPU..
That new variant received almost all new features from new 5xxx-S3 (so AcuPick 1.0, VideoMetaData, AI SSA) and it have SOC power to implement the latest features like animal filter or AcuPick 2.0..

But not the original line of Full Color 5xx9 (which Andy sells) - they had older SOC which was more like original 5442 (Volt firmware) from 2019.

My Color4K-T180 sometimes detect neighborhood cats for some reason.

Yeah I find these 3 series cameras still false alert in some instances for cats and dogs.

You can try setting the rule sensitivity to 2, making the minimum size larger than the cat (not always feasible) and changing to appear only rather than cross and appear in an attempt to make it less sensitive.

Size filtering is the best option but sometimes a cat close to the camera will appear human size at a distance so not always a good solution.
