Tornado warnings for much of central Florida. Had one reported near me in Fort Meade. Heard a roar but saw nothing in cameras. News said it didn't touch down.

Ugh. Spoke too soon about the power. Jinxed it.
It was only an hour so not bad.

Been raining constantly since about 9am. Dog FINALLY decided she couldn't hold it any longer and out we went. This was after about 5 attempts when the rain would drop off. As soon as I got her leash on, it would start to come down in sheets again.

My dog, in rain, would tell me she needed to go the bathroom and then wait until I got the umbrella for her. lol

Mine, Staffy mix, does NOT like the umbrella. I've had her since she was 5 months old and I suspect any bad experience she may have had was prior to us meeting.

Finally got her out about an hour ago. Had two big dumps as it's been about 24 hours since she's stayed out long enough to get it done.

The Chihuahua, going on 8 months, has decided that he died does not like the rain at all.

Edit: That "died" was a slip. He almost passed a couple weeks ago. But that's a story for another day.

Flooding Fort Meyrs Beach

No offense and sympathies to those who have a home or business there, but that place floods if too many people flush the toilet at the same time

Surprised this thing I'd still lingering. TECO outages at 12000, Duke at 50000, Peace river, GRU and Withlacoochee river less than 5000 each. For those not in Florida, our utilities are still regulated so there is no finger pointing on who bears responsibility for what.

My drive home yesterday saw an Amazon and Doritos tractor trailer jackknifed west bound I-4 and county line road (plant city, Florida) not there when it happened and can't find news on line but Amazon was on the north side and Doritos on south side. This morning I passed this on I-75. I passed before the crane showed up. The rig was only held up by the right rear set of wheels. I couldn't relate to how high the water was but news article shows the cab was submerged. Hopefully the driver made it out. I-275 bridges in Tampa and St. Petersburg are closed due to high winds. I stay far away from trucks during high winds!

We got about 1 inch of rain out of it so far. I wish it would have dumped more. Just before this storm we had only gotten 1/2 inch of rain which was the only rain of significance in 16 days prior.

Something weird is going on in the north Orlando area I live in the last two years. Thunderstorms approach then split in two, go around then reform on the other side and continue. Weirdest thing I've seen having lived in this house for over 30 years. Everywhere else is getting your standard daily or every other day thunderstorms. Two years running.

We’re down in PSL.

I run HomeSeer for our home automation and wrote some events should the generator come on and had been meaning to simulate a utility outage but didn’t get around to it. It‘s nice to see that the logic in my head matched reality!

This is one event so I can monitor generator and utility power.
