Hi.
I have sold more than 5000 dahua cameras to various customers. Atm i usually deliver nvr4208-4ks3 with 3000 (wizsense) or 5000 (wizmind) ip cameras.

I have been trying to find out which camera has best picture quality day/night, ivs is needed and some times face detect. There is no need for other triggers/abilities. I cant get clear answers fir this anywhere.

I feel am i wasting money using 5000 series cameras while there is no need for people counting etc advanced options?
Which cameras i should buy?

5000 series :) especially 5442...
You pay for superb image sensor, very good optics and very good image processing.
AI functionality is a simply bonus.. now every camera have some AI functions.. it's software thing.

ps. if you really sold/installed 5000 dahua cams, You shouldn't ask those question. You should very well known what is difference between 3xxx and 5xxx series cams, especially at night performance :)

You have been given good answers so far. But I have a different approach.

You need to define 'best', 'quality', and 'day/night'.

Say for night...are you talking IR/black & white or are you talking full color? How much light do you have? What are the distances?

For quality what do you mean? Are you trying to get the best shot of a face for identification purposes? Do you want to see color of vehicles? Do you need to capture car license plates? Do you just want a pretty picture?

The word best is quite subjective. You could put three stills up of a specific view and get ten different people give you ten different answers for ranking each in the order of 'best' to 'worst'.

Thanks for the replies. I have sold before mainly 2221R-Z and similar cameras. Thats why i havent consider too much about which camera is better than other. Usually my customers have old less tah 1 megapixel cameras and then i walk in and sell 4 megapixel ones -> everyone is happy even i use whatever series cameras. I have lately started to wonder how i could win all competitors with really good pictures, they are using 2000-series and 2000- lite ai ones.
I want and im ready to invest bit more money now to 3000- or 5000-series. I have sold now 100-200 pieces of 3000 and 5000 series, different models here and there. My customers want to see "overall pictures/(scenes of their companies and outdoor parking places". So i need best possible clearance at night.

So, i ask because while im using now 3000 and 5000 series ones, is there any clear choices to choose. And you already give me tip of 5442 - thanks. Anything else, cheaper a bit maybe :)?

in case 5000 series - there is only one proper choice (5442) in multiple versions - fixed lens 2.8 or 3.6/varifocal 2.8-12/varifocal 8-32, turret/bullet/dome, white/black, normal or premium version (5442H with optics/chassis from 7xxx line).

there are also Full color variants - 5449 and 5849 plus dual lens 180 degree 5849-A180. All with white lights, they don't have/see IR and have problems with shallow of depth..

in case 3000 series - most of that series are using small (1/2.8") image sensors - so they don't give nice night image.
But there are a New Kids on the Block - TIOC 3000 PRO - where Dahua used bigger 1/1.8" sensor in 4/6/8 Mpx variants with 3000 chassis/processor.
