I have the nvr hooked up to a tv. I got water into one of the camera connections so I put a new end on the cat 5 cable. I put the power cord off by accident while I was disconnecting the cable to put my tester on. All the cameras work fine now but there is a purple tint on the tv when viewing the nvr. There is no color distortion when viewing on the app and there is no color distortion when viewing other sources on the tv. Any ideas?

Inspect the connection for the video cable between the NVR and the "tv"; it may be loose or damaged. Because the app looks OK as do other sources into the TV I suspect the cable from the NVR to the TV.

It sounds to me like the "tv" is actually a monitor and the VGA cable to it from the NVR is loose or intermittent. Loose VGA connections can cause various color tints depending on which wire is loose or pin not making connection.

It truly is a tv. It’s a 60” tv. With a a 50’ hdmi cable between the nvr and tv.

50 foot cable is probably the problem.

Trying to push the video 50 feet and it probably wore out the NVR port (likely) or the cable is bad.

I gave up trying to use an HDMI cable 50 feet because 2 NVR HDMIs went out over time doing so.

Maybe with an extender or short cable it will work, but in both of my instances the HDMI port was gone.
