US Elections (& Politics) :)

I saw a comment on twitter from someone who noticed that egg prices are outrageous but the cost of chickens hasn't seen that kind of increase, and if I recall correctly these eggs come from chickens.

The libs say that egg prices went up because the chickens wanted health insurance, retirement, time off, etc.

Egg prices will likely double now that USAID will no longer be funding CCFTC (Country Cottages for Transgender Chickens).

   Personally, I got sick of being given change at stores that contains Canaduh coins as the size of their coinage is similar to US. Glad they are going to spend their devalued money in Canaduh. And, since I'm in Orlando I'm looking forward to going out to eat without lines as long as they usually are. If they want to play that game then good luck as there are more here to play their little game of boycott. Was in Aldi this morning and started looking at the "Made in" labels. Was surprised to see 3 things I was putting in my cart say Made in Canaduh. I put it back and bought some USA products instead. Was actually surprised the Maple Leaf cookies were in fact made in Canaduh...LOL! I doubt anyone really cares in the US although I know a few who want to play the game too just for kicks.

So it's no more "Take off, eh"?

You hosers! :lmao:

Are the chickens for meat less likely to get the bird flu?

No, they get it too.

Meat birds have from hatching to butcher is 8-10 weeks I believe. And in grower houses there may only be a few thousand in a barn, I’m guessing a grower farm may have 10,000-50,000 birds total.
So if a grower farm gets hit with AI the number of birds isn’t that high. Also once those birds are killed and the cleaning process is complete and repopulation happens those birds grow so fast before they are slaughtered. (Maybe 6-8 weeks on the farm.)

With layers a chicken won’t start laying eggs until they are 20 weeks old. And they lay until they are around 80 weeks old.
And a small later farm has around 1 million birds. One farm I’ve worked at has 6 million birds.

So between the sheer number of layers that need to be killed is way higher than meat birds. Along with the much lengthier process to get back to production. If a layer farm gets hit with AI it takes them roughly 2 years to get back to full production.

I hope this is real
