Trouble accessing BlueIris using OpenVPN

Been using an open port to access the BlueIris application from my iPhone App and am trying to migrate to using OpenVPN.

I now have OpenVPN working but am not able to get the BlueIris application to log in using the local IP address of the BlueIris PC. I have added the address: 192.168.1.xxx to both the LAN and WAN addresses inside of the iPhone BlueIris application but it does not work.

I am able to Ping the BlueIris PC from the iPhone while OpenVPN is running and connected though.

Is there a setting inside of the PC's BlueIris software that needs to be configured? I've looked but can't find it.

UI3 is the web based browser.

So open up a browser and type in the LAN IP address of the BI computer followed by :80 or :81 (or whatever your port number is)

It does work! (learn something new every day! UI3)

Since this works, does that mean I should be putting the IP Address (192.168.1.xxx:80) the open port number?
I thought I was trying to close the port forwarding I am currently using... and replacing with OpenVPN.

Port discussion:
The OpenVPN Server has a port number in the configuration and looking at the OpenVPN client, it shows the same port number.
If I try to add that to the iPhone BlueIris application, as in: 192.168.1.xxx(port), it does not work
BUT if I add my existing open "port forward" port, the iPhone BlueIris application does work. (192.168.1.xxx(port forwarding port).

Port 80 is for web traffic. You close port 80 on the router and you have no web browsing at all.

That is different than opening a port straight to your computer.

There are many ports that are open by default.

And you don't have to .xxx your IP address as that is local LAN and tells us nothing as everyone has one of the same local IP addresses.

It is the WAN you don't want to share.

In the BI app, it should be your LAN IP address of the BI computer with :80 or :81 whichever your BI is.

(I apologize for ignorance and appreciate your help on this).

Ok, I have OpenVPN connected on the iPhone. I go to BlueIris and have put the LAN address as the BlueIris PC's address with the Port of :80 then trying Port of :81
Neither are working.
192.168.1.162:80 or 192.168.1.162:81
But, if I put in that Port Forwarding address I have been using, it works. (PC's address with the Port forwarding address).

OK since UI3 is working, it might be an issue with app itself.

Try this.

Delete the port forward to your computer in the router that you previously added.

reboot router and BI computer

Delete BI app from phone and reinstall

SOLVED!

Thank you for all your patience and help on this. It was crazy frustrating!

Did all three, now it works.
1. removed Port forwarding on Router - rebooted
2. rebooted BI server (PC)
3. Deleted, reinstalled and reconfigured iPhone BI app.
