Dahua WizColor COMING SOON!

Because the cameras mainly design for the human being :)
The old days when not have function human and vehicle filter, tons of false alarms every day. 90% clients not need the animal detection function. Enable the animal detection will give more false alarms, because the camera need learning more on different animals. Animals have too big different kinds, but human being , only man and woman. Vehicles also easy to detect because of its big size.
So the 5 series give a self learning function will be bit good for solving this issue.

I may never need to buy a new model again . . . the future is sideways and backwards. :idk:

I need to pay attention to this. It would be a reasonable solution if it really works. It just seems silly to me to not include what's already proven in the S3 cameras.

Spec of Varifocal TIOC-PRO.. turrets will be larger (like 5449-ZE) and will have 4 hybrid LEDs (white + IR), not 2 like in fixed versions...

There is spec of new 5x49-ASE-PV-PRO (fixed) and 5x49-ZHE-PV-PRO (varifocals) cams, which will replace actual very old Full Color 5x49...
Varifocals will have lenses which starts at F1.2 (like DeepinView cams from HIK), both 4 and 8 Mpx will have 1/1.8" sensor (question - which one? from TIOC-PRO 3x49 line or WizMindS 5x42 line?)
There will be Smart Dual Light (both IR and white light like in TIOC-PRO)...
There will be AcuPick 2.0 + Video Meta Data.. new thing will be IVS based on Large AI models (HIK have this in latest DeepinView cams - it means much better AI filtering with more advanced AI model)...

there is missing info what with 5849 (1/1.2") and 5849-A180 (180 degrees cam)...

It looks that we will have PT camera from TIOC-PRO line with Auto-tracking Lite (much better SOC than that used in PT2/2xxx cams)...

Screenshot 2025-04-19 at 09.12.25.png

There will be PT camera with hybrid zoom - so 2 sensors / lenses with different zoom ratio (one normal 1x, one for example 4x) and digital hybrid zoom (like on mobiles with many lenses)... Plus another static sensor/lens for static over view (but not 180 degrees)..

Those new 4G PT cams can be interesting for people who want monitor some remote site without internet connection...

I absolutely agree, what happened to our beloved Large 1/1.2” Sensor?

Probably dead for now...
It looks that both Dahua & HIK are cut off from (or don't want to use) new Sony Starvis 2 sensors (due US politics and US<>China situation)..
And there is no sense to create products based on old one (that one which don't see IR)...

There are two Chinese manufacturers which provide 1/1.8" 4/6/8 Mpx CCTV IR Enhanced sensors, which are used by both Hik & Dahua (one in ColorVu/TIOC-PRO, second in higher lines like WizMind-S/WizMind-X).. Maybe sometimes Chinese manufacturers create a new generation of CCTV sensor with better performance / spec-sheet.

There is no so much competition in CCTV market in cameras with big sensors and very good night performance (only Axis have here strong position). So there is no market pressure here - at actual price points both HIK/Dahua/Uniview don't have competition here. Axis offers similar/better products for 5-10x more..

Time for our resident tinkerer @Revo2Maxx to take apart a dashcam or drone with the new Sony sensor and make it work in a Dahua cam!

it will not work..
even is the video data bus (electric connection) in old and new sensor is the same (and very often are), there are commands (some sort of API, specific to sensor/manufacturer) using which sensor must be initialized & configured by firmware to work.

I think we all figured that, but Revo likes to try stuff like this and I was giving a little nudge LOL

Anybody know what "Comprehensive smart object detection" is?

Anybody know what "Comprehensive smart object detection" is?

this is from WizColor 5x49, which looks like it will be first Dahua camera line with Large AI models..

Large AI Models = mode advanced models, which should increase accuracy of human / car (animal?) filtering...
This should also work for SMD (the same AI models are used)
HIK have this in latest DeepInView G2 cameras, but they are only 1-2 months on market and I didn't saw any demos how better this works..

Heh, fair enough  I’m well aware of the protocol mismatch and firmware handshake issues. But hey, figuring out what can’t be done is half the fun. Sometimes you learn more from a failed mod than from a spec sheet. Appreciate the nudge, now I have to try it just to see how far I can get :headbang:.

I like this go-for-it attitude! ;-)

Would you say the HDW5442T-ZE would still be the best for identifying short distances compared to the new cameras 5449 pro with 1/1.8 Sensor with 1.0-1.2?
