Any idea when BI will be "In Stock" through IPcamtalk?

I bought mine from Amcrest where people are told not to buy from because they say there is issues lol. OK!!! So much Amcrest issues..

Downloadable one

One with a CD..

Both show in stock. Yeah I guess because so many people only buy from here and tell everyone not to buy from Amcrest so they are in stock.. Installed mine without any issues.. Mine was only Downloaded version.. So I can't say what happens with CD version.

Yeah...probably my overactive imagination.

I never said that. What I am saying is that Amcrest seems to get a bad rap around here. Sure, some people have had issues with their cameras or even with Blue Iris, but that doesn’t really reflect the full picture. There are plenty of others who have bought Amcrest products, and Blue Iris, without any issues at all, they just don’t always speak up.

My original comment wasn’t directed at any specific person or product. Didn't even look at the other thread until now. Anyway it was a general observation that Amcrest tends to get trashed, even when the issues being brought up happened months or even years ago. And relying on some random Amazon review as proof? Come on those aren’t exactly the gold standard of technical insight.

The first major complaint I saw came from someone who bought Blue Iris 4 back in 2022, spilled coffee on their laptop, and then complained they couldn’t get Blue Iris 5 for free on a new machine. That’s not on Amcrest. That’s a licensing and personal responsibility issue.

From what I’ve seen, about 69% of users had 5 Stars, There are many factors to go purely off reviews. Not everyone does them for 1 All I can personally say is this: I’ve never had a problem. I’ve even moved my Blue Iris install to two different computers since I first bought it, and it worked flawlessly both times.

Keep seeing that people say going to ReoLink because of some Amcrest Issues, I say Peace Out.. I would use any of my Amcrrest Hardware before buying another Reolink device.. Just like RING, Reolink and Night Owl, I have owned and gave away to never own again..

At the end of the day, it’s not about what you read, it’s about what you experience that really matters.

Most of us here would agree Amcrest is better than Reolink lol.

And many of us have Amcrest cameras because they fit a specific need like the little wifi PT cam for $50 that we highly recommend to people, but in general they are the consumer grade shoving too many MP on a sensor designed for lower MP.

So when people "bash" Amcrest as you say, it is relation to the OP of that thread looking for quality at low light and that is where the bigger sensors will perform better. Especially if they are coming from Lorex looking at Amcrest...going from one 8MP on a 1/2.8" sensor to another will result in basically the same performance.

Heck, even in some instances we suggest Ring based on the use case of the OP. Even sometimes Reolink, gasp I know right lol.

That is your disconnect where you are reading someone not recommending SMD or Amcrest and you assume they hate both and that isn't the case. The reply is as it relates to that thread that the poster is asking about.

Just like there are Empiretech cameras we don't suggest or recommend.

We recommend from our experiences what we feel are the best options for the use case and goals of the poster of the thread and sometimes it might be a Ring or Reolink or Amcrest or maybe a Dahua or Hikvision OEM....

You replied directly to me with the ‘overactive imagination’ line, that’s what I was referring to. Anyway, not a big deal. Moving on.
Same here....no time for piddly stuff.
