Oh, I'll post a couple pictures for you. I already have one 7x cam running picking up at the same spot as the 431. Give me a bit.

That 431 is quite huge. But the LPR box I built could house it. You got me thinking on this one. But $899 is a bit high for a cam at my house.

How much lens/zoom do you need? The 413 is 8-32mm. Or the 7 series cam is also 8-32mm
Alright, here is how all my plate/face cams are set up.
First 4 pictures are of the 431 (cam 19) and 7442 (cam 18). The 431 is approximately 90 feet, 7442 80 feet. The angles are different, with the 431 pointing E to W down the street, and the 7442 pointing N.
The 7442 is taking pics of the t-intersection I have, hence the different angles.
First 2 pictures are of the same car, 431 then 7442. Second 2 pictures are of the same car, 431 then 7442.
To be fair, if you allow the vehicle to come a bit closer on the 7442 pictures the plate is much clearer. The pics attached are what the NVR took at that certain time.
The next 5 pictures are of the 5241 (cam 16 s1 170 feet) / 5241 (cam 14 s2 135 feet) / 431 (cam 19) / 7442 (cam 18) / 437 ANPR (cam 13 70 feet).

Law enforcement in my area are all good people. There might be a couple who I think step a little too close to the line, but they all have a very difficult job to do with a lot of people criticizing every little thing after the fact. I really would like more people to do ride a longs just to see first hand how screwed up things are.
Right now I have two 5241 Z12E cams. One is set at 45mm and the other is set at 52mm.
Gotcha. Looking at around 80-100 feet? The 431 is a REALLY nice camera. lol..
But it really is a bit difficult to justify for a lot/most people, especially when considering you can get 3-4 5241 for about the same price, or a 413, 7x series and have money left over for another 5241 cam.
But it really is nice.
I'm still waiting for a newer plate to come by, unless I missed it. lol... The police have them and of course they haven't driven by, that I've seen.
Still haven't seen, or I've missed, any law enforcement coming past.
One interesting thing that did happen a few minutes ago, a vehicle just drove past with two different license plates on the front and back.

I commonly see this from local and County LE..
The first one is most common, not all but most LE local/County. They use some type of spray to block the plate numbers
The second one I see rarely. Its a non-reflective metal plate.
You can see that the camera IR was indeed on from the truck proceeding the LE unit plate being reflective as normal.

The 431 really is a NICE camera, combine that with the 7x series cameras and man... NICE.
Yesterday 3 black kids in the 8-12 range walked through the neighbors yard, who happened to be outside putting mulch down. (yeah, REALLY early).. I thought for sure they were going to run up and rob him so I kept close watch. Saw them yelling back and forth to each other and off they walked. Went out to see what happened and they were going through the neighborhood turning on the outside water faucets of homes.
Just think how much damage that could cause to homes on a regular summer day, but on a cold winter day, sheeze... So now looking for a way to lock up my faucets.

Ended up using a gate valve lockout to lock up my exterior faucets. If somebody wants to really turn the faucet on they can break it, but for the idiot thugs walking through the neighborhood, it'll stop them (hopefully).
Got word from the city itself, lol, that instead of putting a new/brighter light bulb on the street lamp, they're going to put up a brand new pole either right on my property at the end of the driveway (which would be great for me) or right across the street. Either way, a win win for me. Guess the city was getting tired of hearing of the complaints from my city council member, who is getting tired of hearing it from me, they said screw it and gave in. lol...
Now, the waiting begins for THAT to happen. Could be a month, could be 6 months, knowing this city and crew, I'd say closer to 6 months.

I said the same thing when people were trying to read tire pressures off of cars...
24 hours later I was trying to do the same thing...
After I don't know how long, I contacted the city council that I've been dealing with on this light. He was PISSED that nothing had been done yet. lol... He made two calls, one to the city engineer and one to a big boss at the electrical company.
Two hours later the electrical company was out and put up a stake which states "30 foot pole" on it.
The councilman called me after this and told me who he called and what was said. lol.. So they're going with the 30 foot pole with a brand new light on it. This will definitely help me out in identifying and capturing plates, faces, etc.. at night.
Since the stake is up, I'm hoping they'll put the new pole up within a month and hook up electrical and the light shortly after that. Probably looking sometime in July, if not the end of July, but it's coming. lol

OK, been awhile since I've replaced a camera with a new camera. So, please help me out...
I'm going to replace a 4kx s1 camera with a 4kx s2 cam, but then reuse the s1 cam in my back yard.
1) Take off old camera. Now, do I delete that old camera off the NVR device list? Then when re-mounting in the back, it will pop up again on the device list? Or would you factory reset the old cam before unplugging?
2) Mount and plug in new camera. Go through all the set up.

Sometimes an NVR will assign a port to a camera.
To be safe I would delete camera off list and factory reset.
I do have an external POE switch, if that makes a difference.
So basically, factory reset the old camera, then unplug. Then plug it in the new location? Or unplug, then plug in new location and factory reset?
Not sure if there is really much of a difference.
