SD5A425GA-HNR detects cat ??

Where is that setting? I didn't run into that yet.

It sure looks like they need more hysteresis in the tracking software. That would damp down the excess hunting. Like you, I'm tracking at increased distance - usually 50 to 100 yards for the animals here.

I can’t get into the camera until I get home.

I think maybe under zoom /focus?

But mine just doesn’t track well and hunts a lot beyond say 50-60 ft
If this is happening on the regular firmware with longer distance objects, then the animal tracking software must have the same hunting flaw. It isn't the type of motion. Rapid hunting back and forth occurs even if the animal is practically still. A better motion algorithm would avoid such frequent motions and make auto tracking more useful. Here is another example of awful hunting despite minimal animal motion. It ruins what would otherwise be a great capture. The frequent big motions also means the video encoding needs to deal with a lot more frame to frame differences.

At 14 seconds in, it starts to make me motion sick. Stop the ride, I wanna get off

Ive lost VPN connection to that PTZ. I'll have to go down there tomorrow. The IP likely changed. Happens every couple of years

Can still see its fine with p2P running.

I'll post some odd tracking with mine a little later. Damn thing is a big downgrade to the 6 series with respect to tracking.
