I wonder how competently that is implemented. There will be false positives. How is one supposed to contest the issue? Do all the garbage trucks get dozens of tickets every day? What about thunderstorms, strong wind, an air conditioner falling out of a third-story window nearby?

Decibels are measured at a certain distance, so wouldn't they have to have something to determine both decibels and distance?
