US Elections (& Politics) :)

He’s focused on himself. Yes that will mean exposing, maybe even prosecuting some bad politicians, great.

But this isn’t about you and me

Still paying $2.49, just got gas Wednesday. Normally prices go up during the summer, it has not gone up here at all...strange summer, Global warming took a year off, lol, we have not reached 100 this year and our pool has not gotten to 80 this summer. 76 in the mornings and 78 afternoon. It feels great when the sun is out.

I see they went up a penny:

I wish they'd break it down to reflect local and State taxes. Some places the price is going up because overspending liberals working for County gubermints are increasing the gas tax to support their nasty spending habit. They can't help but spend other people's money.

Speaking of moronic decisions made by those to like to spend other people's money such as the $11M my county kicks in every year for SunRail here are the details of the ripoff. For those who don't know SunRail is a commuter rail system serving the Greater Orlando area. Fucking thing should be shut down. And all it does is create traffic jams everywhere there is a train crossing in Orlando every time it crosses a road.

SunRail is not currently profitable and operates at a significant deficit, with fare revenue covering only a small fraction of its operating costs. The system relies on significant subsidies from local and state governments, which also contribute to the region's commitment to funding future expansions, such as the proposed Sunshine Corridor.

In one reported fiscal year, SunRail's budgeted operating costs were $47 million.

Rider fare revenue for the same period was significantly lower, at $2 million.

This results in an operating deficit of approximately $45 million, or more than $50 per passenger.

Who uses it?

Wasn’t it supposed to go to Tampa and Miami and ferry people to Disney originally?

No, just commuter and local travel in Greater O-town. Disney...maybe but that'll be $1Gillion more please plus annual subsidies. People need to get over the fact that the USA is not the rest of the world.

Remember when the people in Floridumb voted to change the Florida Constitution to require high speed rail to connect the major cities? Then a couple of years latter the Floridumbs voted to get rid of it when they realized there was no money for it unless they taxed the shit out of everyone?

So many big spenders in this country who don't have a clue about basic finances.

Texas has one in the making, from Houston to Dallas, High Speed Rail. Not sure how many crossings, if any but land will be taken if this happens.

The project has been Derailed several times already :) from my understanding...

I want to know who is the rooster, is it the leader of German or is it France.

Macron is the rooster.

  • The Gallic Rooster is an ancient symbol of France, stemming from the Latin word gallus, which means both "Gaul" (an inhabitant of ancient France) and "rooster".

Here in Oregon there's a special session going on to raise gas and other auto-related taxes and fees. The dems are using their usual screw-the-little-guy fear tactics, saying give us the money or we won't fix any potholes or plow the snow. Some of the current tax money goes to government pet projects that have nothing to do with roads, and they wouldn't think of cutting any of that. One thing that drove up costs is that the governor requires that any contractor working on road projects pay all their employees on the union wage scale, even if they're not union. The big picture is a money laundering scheme. Government directs money to the unions, who give it back to the politicians, and guess where this money come from?
