I also have the "SUNON EF40101B1-1Q08C-S99" 4 pin case fan on my dahua SMD NVR. why did you use "NF-A4x10 FLX" and not "NF-A4x10 PWM"? NF-A4x10 FLX (3 pin) https://www.amazon.com.au/Noctua-Cooling-Blades-Bearing-NF-A4x10/dp/B009NQLT0M NF-A4x10 PWM (4 pin)...

How to configure my NVR to door bell system?

Hello everyone. I want to be able to see my cameras from my doorbell monitor. I have the following devices: 3 doorbell devices. 2 are display monitors. 1 is the doorbell camera. dahua NVR5216-16P-I/L. And 8 dahua cameras connected to it. All devices are connected to central router with fixes...

@wittaj so instead of relying on facial recognition, its better to just get SMD that just does human detection. NVR would be cheaper. Which 8 camera one you recommend?

@wittaj, so you mean dahua cameras bought from andy are better due to better firmware and support? the camera and NVR internals are fully dahua engineered yea? @Azman it is not for property that will be leased out. It's a share house (plus family living in another flat) where me the landlord...

hmm that makes me think. Why would Dahua only give better firmwares to just Andy and not apply it to their whole customer base? Why would they favour Andy's customers over their own? My guess is that those better firmwares are not from Dahua themselves, but another third part developer who has...

    1. the entrance cams (mount at door) will be about 2.1 meters high from ground. Is that too high for facial recognition (FR)? 2. https://www.amazon.com/EmpireTech-16Channel-Network-Recorder-NVR5216-16P-4KS2E/dp/B07BKV7Z97/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 is that a good FR NVR? 3. can the...

49225 PTZ also needs separate power supply... Now my brains hurting haha Ok so I've decided the following. IPC-T5442T-ZE - for the 2 cameras at the front of the house. 2 of them will be used each side of the house. 2 of them to cover big backyard. With these varifocal ones I can adjust...

ah I see. So varifocal cant change focal length based on human detection. good point that 49225 starts at 4.8mm! that is too zoomed in for a door entry camera. I was thinking to use PTZ as entry camera + tracking. Guess that's out of the picture now. Looking at my house picture from post 9...

wittaj, looney2ns, sebastiantombs PTZ cameras look interesting. And looking at that video, it seems easy to setup for switching between 3 set locations and then following if target enters or leaves detection areas. Doesn't look that hard to configure. And that is the case i'd use it for. eg...

Can varifocal cameras change focal length smoothly from say 2.8mm to 6mm? by 1mm increments? or its step based like 2.8mm, 3.6mm etc And can varifocal change from say 3.6mm to 2.8mm as the person detected gets closer to camera? or is that only for PTZ?

Thanks for reply wittaj. The cams are just for residential property. I only ever really need to be concerned about 4 meters from camera out to yard. So from what you said, I'd say 2.8mm would do the job mostly? So for entrance cameras I can do 2.8mm since distance is so close, might as well...
