    Lorex cam goes off momentarily

Hi Tony, Thanks for the reply. I use CAT6 shielded cables for my system. It's a large house. Cables are more than 100 feet long. One runs > 300 feet. There is no corrosion on RJ45s. I use junction boxes and the jumper joints stay within the junction boxes. I also used the caps over the RJ45...

    Lorex cam goes off momentarily

I’m using Lorex nvr N864A64 and E892AB cameras. Two of the cameras go off for about 5 seconds at different times of a day - roughly twice a day. When the camera switches off, LOREX comes up in the slot as if no camera is connected. And then the camera comes back on itself. The daily temperature...

Dahua NVR will not accept Hikvision cameras password?

My Lorex NVR does the same to GW Camera. It prompts for camera password. I put it in, it works.

    NVR/PC repair

Hi all. My Lorex NVR and a desktop computer were connected to a DSL line. After a rain storm, the NVR, the tower, and modem got fried, and some cameras went down too. We did not smell anything though. I heard from the telephone company tech that my neighbors had the same problem (with Modems)...

Anybody familiar with GW Security systems?

First, no sales tax and they give a 10% discount. second, some of their bullets cameras are IP67 rated and do have built in mic. third, i am getting tired of Lorex.

Lorex camera gets warm, GW doesn't

Hi. I had temporarily installed Lorex E896AB indoors. It got pretty warm due to usage. I took it down and installed a GW Security GW8539DFIP at the same spot using the same ethernet cable . GW does not get warm (it's connected). Any idea why is there such a big difference? Is there anything...

    patch panel for NVR

The PDF is for the 24-port panel. Do you know if the 12-port panel will have the clamps in the back? There is only 1 front picture of the 12-port. They haven’t shown the back side of it. Do you know another 12-port panel that is otherwise the same as Platinum Tools?

    patch panel for NVR

I am getting a rack mount patch panel for my NVR but there are so many options out there. I need one that will take CAT6 shielded cable. My cabinet is standard 19" wide. One thing I am not sure about is how the CAT6/network cable coming from Cameras will connect to the patch panel. I don't know...

    cable management

Correct me if I am wrong. The patch panel will be at front of the enclosure but the NVR PoE ports are in the back of the NVR that will stay in the back of the enclosure. Will I use a foot or 2 feet jumpers to connect patch panel to the NVR? Is a fan in the enclosure necessary?

    cable management

Yes, my cabinet is smaller than the one I attached here. What makes it difficult to work with is that PoE ports are in the back of NVR. Thus all the cables get coiled in the back of the enclosure. Will the patch panel be installed in the front or back of the enclosure?

    cable management

I use Cat6 Riser shielded blue cable for my cameras. The cable is stiff, and I got 8 of those coming into a cabinet (or say enclosure) where the NVR is. After all the cables are in the PoE ports, it requires force to push the NVR back to be able to shut the enclosure door. Somebody said that I...

Lorex NVR with GW Security Camera

Here is the update. I started Lorex NVR with a Lorex Camera, then plugged in GW Security camera GW6050MMIC. It works perfectly fine with Lorex NVR. It captures and records both audio and video and detects human. I have yet to explore rest of the system. But I am happy that there is...
