FYI, I never heard back from the supllier, but tried the upgrade , and it worked. went to NVR_K51_BL_ML_STD_V3.4.93_170408 did a reset , then , NVR_K51_BL_ML_STD_V4.30.005_200628 , then .NVR_K51_BL_ML_STD_V4.72.107_220914 MS-8816NI-K2 is the same as DS-7616NI-K2

Thanks for your feedback! i sent them an email requesting their input also, but haven't heard anything back yet. I dont want to brick the device. If someone has info on a way to reload the stock firmware via serial in case of bricking i could just try upgrading without worrying.

Hello all, Does anyone have experience with upgrading this MS-8816NI-K2 NVR? The supplier mssecurityinc doesn't provide any newer firmware. It cam with version V3.4.92 build 170228 Think its possible to upgrade this to a newer version? i found on the hikvision EU site, firmware for the K2 K4...

Yes i did that and the mtdblock6 matches correctly. I tried updating the camera through web again with this version but didn't work: Baseline Firmware_IPC_R0 series_En_V5.1.2 140116(Released) The error i get is that "it doesn't know the progress" and just stays at 0%, and it didn't update...

Yup, just tried to put IPC_R0_EN_STD_5.4.5_170123 via GUI and got a notification update failed, so my only chance to update this is to use the brickfixv2

Yes the language byte is already 01, i think there could be an issue with the OEM code, i updated it once from 5.0 to 5.1 and i used a special firmware they provided, it does say in the hex PX-IPD213, so i think its an modified version of the hikvision firmware. I dont want to brick the camera...

Ive looked in the mtdblock6 and i found 06 98 in locations 0x64 and 0x65 , and in the document i see 0698 DS-2CD2132-I , so if i follow this guide will i be able to upgrade this to the latest hikvision english firmware?
