How about just charge the same for 1 year reacurring or not and stop nickel and dimming people. How about that? It cost them nothing either way.
People on the official BI forums complain how hard it is to cancel the subscription.
Its not a subscription in the traditional sense but usually companies only charge after a major version upgrade, not for minor updates.
Also, why are the prices like this?
Extend support & maintenance ($34.95 /yr)

Yeah all my other cases have a HD cage that is attached with 1 main screw and then they can be slid out. I've never seen the whole cage tacked in like this.
Yeah, the i5's all seem to only come in those mini form factor cases. I looked and looked and anything with a decent size case was more expensive. I guess I could have shucked the MoBo, but wasn't sure if those mini MoBO's even had a PCIe slot. The power supply seems to be holding up fine...
I took the dive and bought a Dell precision tower 3620 for $130 delivered. This is a decent price. The specs are i7-6700, 16GB RAM, DVD-R, legit Activated Win10x64, some generic video card, etc. The basics.

Hold reset button 10 sec -> unplug PoE while still holding button wait 10 sec -> plug back in PoE keep holding for another 10 sec -> release button.
I think I'm clear on what CPU and RAM I need. I'm wondering more about case logistics at this point. Weather a larger Nvida card (1080) can fit and if the power supply is movable or powerful enough with these smaller cases.
I want a system that will handle 8 4K camera comfortably (not spiking the CPU) but I also want to put in a spare NVidia 1080 I have sitting around to offload A.I.
Most of the good deals seem like they come in these small cases that won't even fit a beefy graphics card. I have a large...
Do you mean you have like a semi-isolated system? What do you mean, one port for internet and one port for the cameras and NVR? Just a regular switch? Where does the PC fit in?
Just wondering - What would be better bandwidth wise? I have a PC that has two network ports. Would it be better to passthrough the BlueIris PC straight to the NVR instead of a switch? Would that save any network overhead if the cameras are all directly connected to the NVR?
So the two...
