    Dahua NVR Basic Operation

Thanks for the reply. 1. So setting motions zones act on the camera lets the camera do the work and the NVR is basically only responsible for recording when the camera tells it to? 2. Since no comment on the camera being connected to the switch rather than the NVR itself, is this an issue?

    Dahua NVR Basic Operation

After running through the Dahua DHI-NVR2108HS-8P-S2 manual and doing some testing with a Dahua / EmpireTech IPC-T5442T-ZE I have a few questions that I hope someone can support me with. 1. I have the Camera connected through a switch currently. I understand that it can / maybe should be...

POE injector combined with wireless access point.

After some additional reading thru the forums here I’m think that hiring someone to fish the cables down from the attic two floors to the point in the brick wall is the way to go. 1) Any issues to consider fishing a cable down from the attic in between the brick and internal side board? 2)...

POE injector combined with wireless access point.

So I’m still on my education path and thinking about installation of cameras just above face level instead of my current installation at 30 - 40 feet high. The constraint I have is that I have a brick sided house and I want to keep the installation as clean as possible. So I’m thinking I can...

bp2008, With regard to IR vs Starlight with a large lens. In general, lowlight conditions, would it better to investigate / research Starlight with large lens over IR. Or is IR better and your recommendation is based on jon2’s requirements? From my early education, why can’t jon2 have...

    looking for better cameras

I’m gonna throw this out here for a recommendation, but more importantly further education. I’ve been doing my due diligence on new cameras and so far the IPC-HDBW5231E-ZE looks like a good picture quality, decent price, and I know your not concerned about low light, but it works great in...

Boom! Yes, exactly what I need. Due diligence in progress. Taking a look at specs, etc now. 1) So the above response takes care of one requirement, what is your recommendation for a PTZ, something around the 12x zoom or greater, that come close to a compromise of the 5231E-ZE and...

Gotcha, reading thru yours and others posts before I ask further questions. Seeing and IDing makes me think a deeper and research more. Ideally both, but as I have already learned from your posts, it will require two cameras each specific to a task to fill my requirements. Have to think /...

BigRedFish, If you don’t mind, what model of camera are you using? Excellent quality. Is there another model other than this that you recommend? I’m currently using a 6 year Lorex LNR 280 package and researching to upgrade. I have 4 cameras outside, 30 feet high, want to be able to zoom...
