This issue seems to come and go.. I hadn't seen it in a couple of months, but just checked and its back again. Almost a thousand files built up. I'm going to re-enable my scheduled task of purging the folder every 30 mins.
I'm currently running:
Blue Iris 5.5.9.5 x64
Deepstack 2022.01.01
After a couple months without issue, the temp files are now accumulating again. had 9200 temp files accumulated in the last 24 hrs - this was using deepstack 2021.09.01. I just updated to the latest deepstack (2022.01.01) along with the latest BI update and will keep an eye on it.
After updating Deepstack to 2021.09.01 about 2 weeks ago, I have not had this issue occur. I'm a bit hesitant to consider it "fixed" because there have previously been times when I didn't experience the issue for several days, but at this point its been just over 2 weeks now without issue.
I was previously running 2021.02.01. I updated to 2021.09.01 about 48 hours ago, and so far so good - no temp files yet. This issue seems to come and go in my case, so I'll keep an eye on it. Hopefully 2021.09.01 fixed this. Can't seem to find a changelog for Deepstack.
Another 74k files in the last few days here.. Today I just created a scheduled task that purges the folder every 15 minutes. Not ideal but it'll help until BI fixes the issue.
Yeah, as mentioned in a previous post this was already reported to BI and they acknowledged they knew it was an issue, "We are aware of the issue but no info on the root cause or fix. Need to investigate with DeepStack."
I'll ping them again on it.
The issue seems to come and go on my system. I do keep BI up to date. As of right now my temp folder is empty.. will check again in a couple of days and report back.
Looks like this bug is back on recent builds.. had 12,000+ files sitting in there from the last 9 days.. I'm just going to setup a scheduled task to delete them at this point.
Update: Still appears to be fixed in my particular case with 5.4.9.8 (for now, at least), but I did receive a reply from Blue Iris support:
"We are aware of the issue but no info on the root cause or fix. Need to investigate with DeepStack."
They also mentioned a workaround:
"Unfortunately...
This appears to be fixed in 5.4.9.8. I purged the temp folder, updated to 5.4.9.8, restarted, and its been ~20 hours now and Deepstack's temp folder is empty and being cleaned up/maintained as expected. I never received a response after submitting a ticket to Blue Iris on Sunday, but it does...
Could be.. but I did un-install DeepStack (then cleaned up its leftover files), rebooted, then re-installed it. I have not yet re-installed BI5. Will see what BI support has to say about it.
