WOW ! i like the results from that camera IPC-HFW4239T-ASE. i see what you mean though about the sudden light overexposing it. and the dahua can be connected to the hikvision nvr using onvif ?
have they made a ptz one yet ?
The above is setup for timelapse but i want to change the view etc
can you disable the IR on the Dahua ? i currently have a 3rd party hikvision 12mp which over looks a beach but i cant seem to turn the IR off and the picture is just noise at night.

I would like to setup an IP camera to capture lightning strikes at night.
Is there any particular IP camera that would work in achieving this ? I have a Hikvision NVR setup so if i could incorporate into that as well, it would be handy.
Had a little look round and seen a few starlight...
can you get them in dome versions ? i ask as it not sheltered at all and a dome would be more resistant to the wind than a bullet.
especially if i do manage to get a full year then the images should be nearly the same
