[SOLVED] Encountered unexpected file [camera_name].reg; stopping

Maybe???? I renamed the file to *.reg.old and it still threw an error. I moved the file out of that directory. I'm guessing BI goes through that log directory every day, looking for anything older than what we set as the retention limit. Since it can't open that, or the contents aren't the...

[SOLVED] Encountered unexpected file [camera_name].reg; stopping

I changed my config to no longer use the NAS, but still got the error last night.

[SOLVED] Encountered unexpected file [camera_name].reg; stopping

Are you writing BI files to a NAS? I ask because I am, and my NAS is complaining about a drive throwing errors. Can't help wondering if they're related.

[SOLVED] Encountered unexpected file [camera_name].reg; stopping

Did you ever figure this out? I'm getting almost the exact same error: "Log: Encountered unexpected file [camera name.log stopping" and this error is happening at midnight as well.

Who is using Axis cameras because they're not Chinese?

I know this "apples and oranges" but, via Wireshark some years ago, I caught a Wi-Fi outlet sending my SSID and password to the Internet. I now have my (soon-to-be-replaced) webcams on a subnet that cannot access the Internet.

Who is using Axis cameras because they're not Chinese?

Maybe I need to be fitted for an an aluminum foil hat, but I just can't move myself to buy Dahua or Hikvision, no matter how superlative they may be. What Axis cameras are y'all using?

Yikes. "Hikvision is described as 'partnering with Chinese intelligence entities' "

"Chinese companies have CCP representation within the companies .. and do expect all companies in China to have to follow Chinese Law .. and that imho includes related espionage" Yes,sir-ee Bob! Ever since I Wireshark'd a cheap Walmart Wi-Fi switch sending my SSID and password out to some...

Yikes. "Hikvision is described as 'partnering with Chinese intelligence entities' "

Chinese surveillance technology giant Hikvision has denied it is illegally disguising its products sold to the US government to enable Chinese espionage. It was responding to BBC queries about allegations revealed in a recently leaked Pentagon document. But Hikvision did not answer questions...

Blue Iris Rich Notifications not working over LAN -- Work fine on Cellular

Oddly, this only just started happening. But I've also seen discussions here and on other forums that updates to BI seem to have broken notifications for lots of people. When I tried testing alerts from the application on my BI server, it crashed the GUI. Even though I have it check for and...

[Solved] Anyone else having push notifications issues/failures on Android?

Thanks for the suggestion, Nanook! I didn't realize the test button was now the lightning bolt (it used to be in the window where you selected the audio alert). When I did that, I got the helpful feedback that the alert I'm troubleshooting spanned another profile - once I un-selected the...

[Solved] Anyone else having push notifications issues/failures on Android?

I believe my notifications issue did, in fact, coincide with an update. I don't think (but can't be sure) it was the "big" update to Android 10, but one of the subsequent ones.

[Solved] Anyone else having push notifications issues/failures on Android?

My phone stopped getting push notifications sometime in the past few weeks. It's a T-Mobile Galaxy S9 and I cannot think of any tweaks or changes I would have made to disable notifications from the official Blue Iris app. My first troubleshooting was to uninstall/reinstall it, and then verify I...

Force Blue Iris to Move Files

@gfaulk09 - I just added a Synology NAS to my network and was having issue with BlueIris falsely alerting a lack of space. The "Do not check disk space" checkbox bought me some relief until I could check a few things. For example, from the BI Help file (below) I verified the account running the...

No log events for pausing cameras?

I use stream 0 and 1 for each of the cameras for which I wish to receive alerts, so I record all motion via stream 0, and use stream 1 with masks, etc. for alerting. I could have gone back and replayed footage of day-after-day, but it wasn't worth the time. I emailed BI support, and Ken...
