IPC-T5442T-ZE IPC-T5442TM-AS IPC-T5842T-ZE SMD 3.0 Smart IR Latest New Firmware From EmpireTech

How does the latest version on the Dahua site compare to this version being tested here? Specifically its DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_V2.840.0000000.1.R.210716. This appears to be 7/16 fw whereas the one talked about here is 7/29? Also does SMD 3 on the 7/29 fw work better than the...

UPS for use with Blue Iris system

If you look around or know someone who works in an office building with access to "old" equipment you can get some pretty expensive UPS units for dirt cheap. I know of one company that purchases all of their UPS units new and then when battery replacement is due in three or four years they yank...

I see Dahua released a new firmware on their site for the HX5XXX series, DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_MultiLang_NP_Stream3_V2.820.0000000.2.R.210403. Does this firmware update to SMD 3.0?

Click "search setting" at the top and enter the credentials in the box, then click ok. Took me some time to figure that out too.

    Outdoor PoE Terminations and Corrosion

I've been using Dow #4 compound on all of my ethernet connections outdoors and I haven't had any failures yet. Somewhat expensive to some but a 5 oz tube goes a long way. The northwest is wet but PoE exists in even worse places like coastal ports that get blasted with salt spray year round and...

Outdoor cable life expectancy and impact on IR illumination

I had my analog cameras up for about five years and just one night I noticed the IR didn't look that great. I tried it against an unused camera from the kit and the difference was huge. The IR leds had just worn out. It happens gradually so you really don't notice it. I just happened to catch...

    IPC-T5442TM-AS , IPC-T5442T-ZE Latest new Firmware Volt V2.800.0000000.17.R.200620

It's on the dahua wiki website. On the left side column click on config tool under the software section. Here's a link to the page itself with the download buttons. https://dahuawiki.com/ConfigTool

    IPC-T5442TM-AS , IPC-T5442T-ZE Latest new Firmware Volt V2.800.0000000.17.R.200620

I had one camera that would not update and did the same thing. I ended up using the windows config tool software and that seemed to work fine. Afterwards I was able to use the web browser for every successive firmware version so it just seemed to be an issue with that firmware.

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

That's correct you can run the NVR without hard drives installed. I had mine connected / disconnected for about a week messing with it until my hard drive arrived.

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

That's what I discovered as well. I leave both multicast boxes unchecked in the network section and it works fine. It seems that the one that includes broadcast in system is the key one. Also something else I noticed during testing, my NVR will accept my dahua cameras regardless of password or...

***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

Also just to add to this discussion, if you have already initialized a camera and are trying to add it to a PoE NVR it will not work correctly with the multicast / broadcast search disabled. (Option in the system services tab on the camera) I wasted about two hours this morning trying to figure...

    IPC-T5442TM-AS , IPC-T5442T-ZE Latest new Firmware Volt V2.800.0000000.17.R.200620

Yeah I forgot to add that. I don't "condone" any firmware at all just noticed they released the 717 and I was experimenting with it. :) Thanks for the info on the 717 btw i'll be sure to update my cams with your new release since mine are 5442tm-ase models. I was a little leery of the dahua wiki...

    IPC-T5442TM-AS , IPC-T5442T-ZE Latest new Firmware Volt V2.800.0000000.17.R.200620

The firmware bin I used is DH_IPC-HX5XXX-Volt_Eng_N_Stream3_V2.800.12JW000.0.R.200717. It's listed on the N45DJ62 which is I believe the north american model number for the fixed lens 5442 series. On this webpage. DahuaWiki

    IPC-T5442TM-AS , IPC-T5442T-ZE Latest new Firmware Volt V2.800.0000000.17.R.200620

The rebooting issue is in firmware 620. Post #32 in this thread shows a picture of the change log entry for known issues. I did update two of my cameras to 717 and they seem to be working fine although I haven't really done anything in depth. I'm sure Andy will have his version of the 717...

    IPC-T5442TM-AS , IPC-T5442T-ZE Latest new Firmware Volt V2.800.0000000.17.R.200620

The 200717 firmware is on the dahua wiki website available for download. As far as the IVS i actually didn't have any problems myself (I don't use IVS yet i need to learn how to) I just read in this firmware thread where the cameras would reboot and have issues after an IVS event was triggered.
