    just plug the nvr out and ping again. if you get an answer somebody/something is using the nvr ip. and when you give the nvr a fixed address then it will not show up in the dhcp list

    Because of axis is using the same API since years just try it with the axis camera setting. If that doesn't work try onvif... Does the converter support onvif?

    If you look at the data sheet of the NVR you will find out that you have 4 inputs and 1 output. So you can connect your alarm system directly to the NVR if 4 inputs are enough for you...

    With the right NVR and right support for the camera you can use the camera input as a general input on the NVR for triggering events like motion detection or activating/deactivating schedule for recording...

    I read something different, but doesn't not really matter now, I think. What you mean exactly when you talk about snapshots. Do you mean the normal recording when somebody triggered the motion detection or we talking about getting a snapshot per mail or something else?
