Thanks, I have been lurking around for a while and gaining some useful information! How would I run Blue Iris software on my current NVR?

I have a Dahua system 7 cameras and an NVR. I still have issues with the user interface, I find it very confusing, and the system randomly locks me out from viewing the cameras over IDMSS. I would like to run some kind of different software? Maybe Blue Iris? Not even sure where to start.
