Sorry to hear that. The one I bricked was my first camera and I was just learning the basics. Even after reading one of your excellent posts about upgrading and the chances of bricking the camera, I couldn't resist trying just so I could learn and see the new changes. I updated the firmware...
I purchased an IPC-T5442T-ZE that was already initialized out of the box. Andy told me to do a reset. I did and the camera is working. This camera is replacing the camera I bricked with a firmware update!!
Question # 1: When you do a factory reset with the button on the camera, does that set...
That is how the first scam cam came I think. At least there was a white wire tie loose in the bottom of the box. Not sure if it was heat-sealed or not. I don't think so.
Thanks for the pics and confirmation.
Here we go again.... This is a 2 issue post. I received the replacement New IPC-Color4K-T-2.8 today From Empire Tech that I ordered through Amazon. This one appeared packaged correctly with everything including 2 wrenches, the manual, and the waterproof connector. The previous scam camera was...
Makes sense even with the ideal process that Andy implements there is too many ways a return fails to get through the process.
I have an IPC-T5442T-ZE coming tomorrow from Andy. So I am hoping it is correct. But now I know what to look for.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Lorex is on the base.
No UP stamped on the cam housing. I assume it should have.
I guess I'm not installing it tonight! efing thieves....I...
Purchased on Amazon and order says Sold by: EmpireTech-Andy
Box Has correct model information along with Empire tech printed on the box.
Silver tag on bottom of the cam has IPC-Color4K-T-2.8 printed on it but I did notice the mounting base plate has Lorex formed into the side of it.
New IPC-Color4K-T-2.8 From Empire Tech connected to Config Tool, shows Initilized right out of the Box. Shouldn't all new Cams require initialization so I can set up password etc? My previous cams from Andy required me to initialize them.
Config tool also shows the Model as E892DD - Is that...
Ok, that makes sense. Good graphic to explain it.
I have the cams on a VLAN that is blocked from all Internet access which is where I had the Bi Server located. I will have to change that so it has outgoing access and then I should be in good shape.
Thanks again for your help. Very much...
