    Is this hikvision?

So I just moved into a new place and the landlord is less than helpful regarding the cameras installed on the building. I have gotten into the system with the intention of setting up mobile/ remote monitoring but the NVR doesn't provide much info. The model # on the cameras doesn't turn up any...

    Help with networking decision

there is conduit in the ground for the long run already. Hard to say what killed it. Its been many years. In theory I can pull new with the old line in the ground. It has a 15' vertical drop over that distance and it definitely hits the water table as the house is on a canal. Im investing in...

thank you for the detailed reply. I have settled on zero wifi cameras and making all new hard line runs + conduit. Its going to suck but I'll only have to do it once

Help with camera selection- 2 way audio/ low light, etc

I am setting up a system for my parents and need some help making sure I get the right cameras for the right locations. I have been reading through lots of threads, sticky's and wikis so I know enough to know I dont know enough. I have settled on S3 Version IPC-T54IR-AS 2.8mm for a few short...

    Help with networking decision

I definitely prefer Ethernet myself. I half-assed hoped there would be a good argument for wifi since I might be able to troubleshoot digitally from afar vs having no option to put hands on unless I'm on site.

    Help with networking decision

Ok folks I have a task to complete for my aging parents (a few hundred miles away) and I am not sure what the best route is. Bear with me here this is a bit of a novel (sorry) My goal is to have 7 cameras operating with as little maintenance/ complication as possible. I have been maintaining...

    Wireless alarm i/o

Reporting back on this thread. I have setup both devices and understand exactly what is going on with this setup now. These things are pretty robust. I have encountered an issue, though. Device 1 is not triggering device 2 with the URL action. When I run the command in a URL bar it works fine...

    Wireless alarm i/o

Well that certainly does create a bit of a problem. The posted schematics above reference 12v but I checked the specs and it is 110. Hrm.

Work has been a bit too busy to dive into the details yet. That makes sense. Thanks y'all! I'll let ya know when I get things running :)

    Wireless alarm i/o

The bridge and serial port mostly. Unsure what those are referring to. I assume the firmware will determine how the device functions and I'll just have to tinker with that once they arrive. I have a Shelly 3 mini so I'm somewhat familiar with their devices but I don't recall it having a serial...
