    EmpireTech web interface questions.

Fair comments, thanks for the detail. Perhaps I should be using IE more.

Thanks, I am aware that most use IE, and I am aware it can be launched via a script, and I do use it with some systems. I usually use either Chrome or FF where I can, and it seems not to be an issue with these cams.

From memory I am fine in these areas.

Low-light struggles / improving image quality.

Personally, I would keep them as they are, but it depends on your situation / goals. If you had a 2.8mm on the alley, and 12mm on the roof, you would have some tighter shots, but still not very tight - E.G you would have 2 'ok' views. I would be inclined to leave it as-is, with the 2.8mm 8MP on...

Thats understandable. Some motion would be good to see if possible. You could even walk around yourself if you like. 1/25 is 40ms, I believe, this is a little high. Not sure how precise you can be on the Hikvisions, but try speeding it up a little (smaller number is faster) - you will get a...

It is possible using either ONVIF or RTSP - note however, there is less compatibility than Hikvision camera with Hikvision NVR, so adjusting all the camera parameters within the NVR is not possible. Good, but it seems you have skipped the 'Exposure' tab, which may be the most important in this...

No problem. I am not currently running BI in this instance, a Hikvision NVR is being used for 24x7 recording. You could start by sharing some sample images from your cameras, your camera models, and settings?

ONVIF messing with time on EmpireTech IPC.

OK,, I got fed up and just added the IPC to the NVR with the RTSP streams. Seems to be working OK for now.

ONVIF messing with time on EmpireTech IPC.

I have been setting up a B54IR-Z4E from Andy, which has been a great cam. However, I have one issue, not specific to the cam exactly which I cannot seem to solve. I have the cam added to a Hikvision NVR for continuous recording purposes, via ONVIF. This works quite nicely. However, due to some...

The noise is definitely less after these adjustments, and here are some still captures:

Low-light struggles / improving image quality.

Reviewing historic footage, nighttime noise seemed to worsen between the AM and the PM on the 27th. Looking back on this thread, I found I posted this on the 27th: So looks like the lowered shutter (= less light into sensor) could be the cause. For getting good sill images of perps, do we...

Low-light struggles / improving image quality.

As usual, thanks all for the information. I have increased NR just a few points, and lowered sharpness to 44 as you suggested. Of course, this is always the goal. When viewing, and pausing to get some stills, I almost wondered if this issue was contributing to stills too. But perhaps not. I...

What causes noise, or a kind of 'shimmering' in the video? This definitely was not present to begin with, but I am having an issue with it now. No sure what I changed though? Codec? I know I did reduce 3D and 2D NR a bit, but I thought I did this when I first set everything up, E.G before I...
