The reason the shelf doesn’t line up is because if I placed it higher up, the NVR wouldn’t have fit due to the thickness of the shelf. Remember, it’s on a shelf, it’s not mounted. Oh and yes it does have rubber feet I believe which also adds to the height. Good point.
Looks like 1.75 to me which is 1U. I compared with my unifi 1U devices and they are the same height. I don’t think the version I have is even rackable if I recall.
My NVR (5216-16P-4KS2E) appears to be about 1U. I have it sittting in a rack but on a shelf within the rack. I never bothered trying to actually rack mount it.
I’ve been waiting for this feature to be added for years. Using just the DMSS app, it’s not a feature.
I have been able to get it working by using the home bridge plugin. I just disable the DMSS notification on my phone and get the notifications via Homebridge. I stopped using this method though...
Problem solved. It appears that after my power outage, somehow the default DNS server listed on my NVR was set to 1.0.0.0 (have no clue how that would have happened).
SSH'ed into my UDM Pro and ran a tcpdump against the Dahua NVR IP, I noticed that it was trying to hit push.messagepush.org...
Ok thanks for the confirmation. Ya that’s what my initial thought was. I purposely disabled my firewall rules. It used to be sending to:
push.messagepush.org: 8888
I will need to monitor the traffic and see what’s going on. Thanks. Will report back.
Update: I set up email alerts and those are working so at least I know that my cameras are detecting motion successfully. Push messaging not working though. hmm
Hi guys
Are your DMSS app notifications still working? Mine stopped last week all of a sudden. I did have a power outage at approx the same time I noticed they stopped. I checked and all settings are exactly the same. I even uninstalled the app and reinstalled. Rebooted my NVR and all...
Hi
I’m pretty sure in the general - appearance mode - match system settings is what controls the dark mode.
For the video download, I was able to download a video clip with audio by default. So I’m pretty sure if you have the audio enabled in your camera/nvr settings then it will record using...
Thanks this works really well. I almost feel as if I need to test it daily to make sure it is working since I don't get any false alarms anymore. - much appreciated.
At the company I work for, it’s been the only thing that has been discussed and everyone is patching servers non stop. All other changes are on hold. Log4j is included in quite a few different software packages.
Update: I got the motion alerts to work. I believe it had something to do with me having http enabled only in the ffmpeg plugin config.
HomeKit will send me motion alerts to my phone but then at some point stops until I restart my docker container/homebridge. Will keep digging as I am not...
I managed to get a pretty acceptable stream by using the Substream and the 'tcp' option. I had to ensure that I did NOT enable the HTTP only, otherwise it could not login to my NVR. I have HTTPS enabled on my NVR.
The issue I have at the moment is that I cannot get the 'Motion' triggered...
I tend to make any updates on the camera gui directly rather than the NVR if possible as I came across a few inconsistencies in the past between interfaces.
Everyone mentions IE but I don’t even know where you find IE anymore on a newer system. It’s EDGE now I think.
if my NVR required a daily...
