    Question about PoE switches

Q, I am looking at this switch, as well. What are your initial impressions? I returned my refurbed D-Link 10/100 4+4 switch. Thank you, Geordon

Longse Camera and positioning recommendation for garage entry

I received two LRDC60S500 cameras last Friday. I plugged them into a new D-Link DES-1008PA 4+4 POE unmanaged switch with my notebook, and used IPCSearch.exe to update the IP and subnet masks on each camera. I was able to add and see both cameras at the same time in Blue Iris. AFter a short while...

    Longse factory reset

Worked with a tech last night. I took apart the camera, and in the process, it came back online to the network, but would lose connection if I moved it a little. Appears to be a bad connection or broken wire somewhere internally. Longse wants me to take if off POE and power it using the separate...

    Longse factory reset

Thanks for the pointers. I already had the switch, pc, and camera on a disconnected network. SADP looks just like the Hero IPCScanner. WireShark showed no activity outside the PC and switch. It then dawned on me to check the network activity light on the switch, and the camera is not detected...

    Longse factory reset

I just received two LRDC60S500 cameras. They use a different subnet than my home network, so I plugged them into a new D-Link POE unmanaged switch with my notebook, and manually set the notebook network adapter IP to be in the same 192.168.0.x subnet. I used IPCSearch.exe to find a camera and...

Longse Camera and positioning recommendation for garage entry

Took a few extra emails and Skype messages, but I now have a tracking number for two LRDC60S500 (3.6mm and 5mm) cameras. POE switch on order. I am looking into Blue Iris as my security software, instead of using my Synology. Hopefully, I will have something more to share in the next couple of...

What is the best way to view BI remotely using a Windows Phone?

It appears the recommended way to view BI remotely over the web is to use one of the iOS or Android apps. But, my phone has Windows 10 Phone. Am I SOL or is there an acceptable alternative? (I don't yet have BI, but plan an trying it.) Thank you, Geordon

Longse Camera and positioning recommendation for garage entry

Should I be fine with the non-IP66 rated LRDC60S500 in any of the recommended locations on the garage? May see some snow or upswept rain under the eaves, but most should be sheltered from most precipitation. Otherwise, would a bullet be better? I have an order in progress with Amanda for 2...

    How to reach Amanda?

Shipping was $39 total. Longse has a second price list with 5mm options for several S500 cameras, of which the LRDC is one, so I asked for it. I am trying to swap one of the LRDC60S500 units for the LBW90S500, as you just ordered, but am waiting for Amanda to get back to the office.

    How to reach Amanda?

Lots of posters say to get Longse through Amanda@longse.com. I have emailed several times without response. I was able to reach Eddy through Alibaba, but that conversation dried up fast when I could not produce a company web site and Skype name for contact. I want to order two IMX178 turrets...

Longse Camera and positioning recommendation for garage entry

I told you I did a lot of reading. I must have mixed up models with Hik or something else. I see I can get the LRDC60S500 or LBK60S500 bullet with a 5mm lens (thanks @atom), bumping my viewing angle up to 71 deg.

Longse Camera and positioning recommendation for garage entry

@Del Boy, thank you for the suggestions. I retook the pictures with my Panasonic GM1 (4/3 sensor) plus 15mm lens to give the 60 deg Angle of View. Here are the new upper left (#6), replaced middle (#4), and far right (#7) positions. I will have to get a different lens to portray the 90 dev AOV...
