    SD1A404XB-GNR PTZ preset issues

Gotcha. Glad to know I'm not the only one with the issue. And I agree - the form factor is perfect and exactly what I was looking for. I guess I'll just learn to live with it until something nicer comes out!

    SD1A404XB-GNR PTZ preset issues

Interesting. I'll do that and report back. Anyone have any disassembly tips?

    SD1A404XB-GNR PTZ preset issues

I picked up a SD1A404XB-GNR PTZ from @EMPIRETECANDY last week. Neat little PTZ, great for smaller spaces. Though I have an issue that I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed. I've set up some presets but I have a couple of them in particular that don't always return to the same location, even...

    Important! EmpireTech Official Website Active

Great work, Andy. I'm a web developer so I'll take a look at the site to see if I have any suggestions!

    PTZ autotracking with multiple people?

For sure. The way that the autotracking PTZs work now along with BI and spotter cams seem to be a great solution for most "prosumers".

    PTZ autotracking with multiple people?

Right  Well, I'm working on adding "poor man's autotracking" features to Frigate to do object tracking with any PTZ. Frigate is already really fast at tracking objects (not just humans and vehicles), and it doesn't seem like it would be too far fetched to get something working.

    PTZ autotracking with multiple people?

Thanks for those videos, @bigredfish. Exactly what I was looking for. Would that be the ideal behavior of an autotracking PTZ? In your first video, would you rather have had the camera back off of the man with the hat to get the two bike riders in the frame as well, and then once they exit...

    PTZ autotracking with multiple people?

Definitely helpful @wittaj. I wonder what would have happened if the two people had appeared at the same time but at different ends of the frame... The spotter cam would have picked them both up, but maybe it's a tossup as to which one the ptz would have started tracking?

    PTZ autotracking with multiple people?

For those of you who have an autotracking PTZ from Andy, what have you observed as far as the default behavior when multiple people to be tracked are in the frame? Will the camera zoom and attempt to keep both of the people in the frame? Will it only focus on the closest or furthest one? Or on...

[Paper] Spying on the Spy: Security Analysis of Hidden Cameras

Great paper! I bought the camera pictured last year in an attempt to see if I could pull a live stream off of it, and I was shocked when I was able to view things like wifi credentials and camera password all in unencrypted JSON over UDP. The Aliexpress seller advertised it as a 4k camera, but...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

It's a messy hack emulating the web interface with some Python code. It would not be intuitive for the average user to set up. So let's hope Dahua comes through with changes to the HTTP API.

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

48 hours in, and I'm actually happier with this cam now. Andy has contacted Dahua on my behalf to take a look at the Chrome/Mac issue for drawing IVS rules (Chrome on Windows works fine). I've also found a way to set day/night profiles externally without the HTTP API (web developer experience...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

Thank you Andy, this is why we buy cams from you - you continue to be a great support to us and advocate for our needs with Dahua! I just tried to draw some IVS lines using the latest version of Chrome for Mac - Version 114.0.5735.90 (Official Build) (arm64). I can begin drawing a line, but...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

Right. That's unfortunate, it doesn't seem like it would be that much of an issue, at least from a technical standpoint.
