QVIS DVR remote access and motion/push notifications?

Hi guys I posted before about cctv system questions, however I have managed to fix the old DVR we had, it just had a faulty hard drive. It's a QVIS 4 channel 4BB model. How will remote access work with this? I used to use an app called XEye or something of the sort, however I am pretty sure...

Ok great. Thanks for the photo. Yeah Blue Iris seems pretty good to me so far. Now just to start figuring out logistics and get the ball rolling.

Would something like this work out ok with a Dahua NVR? Works out to around £650 for 4 cameras instead of the Hikvision set. That being said, do these have 2 way audio? It's not obvious in the specs.

BlueIris seems the way to go then no doubt since I already have a computer lying around. With regards to the camera again, I've got a couple of porch lights, how much light should these cameras be getting to produce a good night image? Two way talk sounded semi ok on the Ring Floodlight when...

Floodlights are definitely something I'll look into then. They seem worth it. No offense taken at the "consumer" mindset. You are correct. The two way talk isn't so much to have a conversation - just to shout at anyone who may be there when they shouldn't be. How's the motion detection...

    Camera Recommendations/Installation questions

Let me tell you, I could very much do without it. My family are incessant on it. If you take a look above I said floodlight and two way talk were both a must for them as they want deterrents. However I'm now seeing that even the floodlight is a gimmick too, as the camera will be overexposed when...

Cool. DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL does this Hikvision model have two way talk? The manual isn't very clear.... Two way talk is a must no matter what. Can I also ask, what actually contributes to the quality? I know wittaj said above not to chase MP however since Hikvision and Dahua and the standouts...

    Camera Recommendations/Installation questions

I'll need a camera with good zoom then for the license plates. Maybe 2 at the front and two at the back? that should cover all angles, maybe another somewhere else.... again as you said expanding is an option down the line.

    Camera Recommendations/Installation questions

I'll probably go with the dual NIC system then! just to confirm its just one other NIC card I need as opposed to the existing Ethernet ports on the machine? In regards to where the cameras will be placed... I'm planning to have one covering the front w/ two way audio, one covering the back...

    Camera Recommendations/Installation questions

Yeah I realize there is delay. With some cameras i've been seeing abhorrent audio quality Inside job is unlikely.

    Camera Recommendations/Installation questions

Wow ok, I didn't realize it affects the cameras that much. investing in a proper floodlight that's on all the time may be the best bet. Just a few things to iron out then Do I need a PoE switch to be able to block the internet access/VLAN? Idk if i need a separate router as well, Unifi seems...

    Camera Recommendations/Installation questions

Cool, I'll try looking for a camera with two way audio and a floodlight from them. It's just the networking side of things that confuses me. I've come across a big guide about how to do it but it uses Unifi equipment which is expensive. i still need a switch to do VLAN, no? also, how do you...
