so i got my hands on one of these cameras....and Im a little disappointed. I cannot turn off the supplemental light, and there is no IR which means its total darkness if there is very very little light.
Hello all,
On a hikvision nvr, I know you can limit a user from specific cameras but can you limit a user from listening to mic? Example..
Have user b view camera 1 but disable them from listening in to mic.
Thank you all for the help. I was able to get it by IPing and setting to manual. On another note, I got on the ladder and twisted the 7YR camera and was able to see why it was disconnecting. I also bought a POE dummy switch for the future.
Thank you for the reply.
Yes the port does the same on different ports on the nvr.
I will try to add it manually with the same ip and see if it does anything.
Thank you for prompt response. I checked the NVR PoE stats and it looks like it isn't consuming much. This is a 16 port NVR and I am only using 9. I guess a good test would be to remove one camera and leave the one that is having an issue on to see if it stays up.
Hello all,
i have a weird situation. My camera setup has been the same for the last 5 years, other than switching the NVR from the costco HIKvision (SWANN) to an actual Nikvision NVR. Long story short, I have one PoE camera that when network cable is plugged into the HIK NVR PoE ports, it...
did you ever get this resolved? i am having the same issue. I used to have a SWANN NVR and used BI for alerting. I since have swapped out the SWANN for a HIK NVR, and now i keep looking connection. Please help
Hello All,
ALittle bit back story to what i currently have. I have a NVR8-7250 (purchased from Costco) with 8 Swann 3MP bullet cameras. 1 of the 8 cameras has died, and was able to get a actual Hikvision dome camera. Model number is DS-2CD2532F-IS. Now, both the DS-2CD2532F-IS and the Swann...
Great! thank you for the write up. for remoting into the cameras....do you have to turn on the VPN on your phone to check your cameras, or is there some other way of checking.
this will be hard for my wife to overcome especially since she has an iPhone and is known to just click on an app.
i am willing to put in the work, and get involved as long as it is reliable. Example...with the NVR, the system get rebooted automatically. Add the NVR to UPS Backup System + Add to a Networked powerstrip to remotely turn power off and on, is much easier and piece of mind vs having a Windows 10...
It's that the way to go nowadays? Should I still to an NVR under one roof or Blue Iris and a PC. I see that with blue Iris, you can practically add any camera vs NVR it has to be compatible.
