Thnx for the reply. So the idea is to plug the camera on the network, add the ip on the dongle and than hook up that to the monitor using hdmi/vga. Can you recommend me one specific hdmi dongle? So i can work form there.

It's not Dahua's problem that you buy a camera meant for Chinese market. There's a reason why those cameras are cheap compare to other models, because they are made cheaply only for a specific market. And now you guys complain why you cannot update the fW!

4.0.8 means the camera is on recovery mode, it's not a firmware version. you need to tftp it. the thing is if the camera is chinese you need to find the right fw to make it come alive.

unfortunately i don't have any footage right now, I installed two on two different job, the camera are 2MP and the picture was really clear, the camera zooms in and is auto focused neatly. the only drawback is that it's indoor, but given the price range it's ok for certain situations.

yes i've installed the camera by myself, there are two strong IRs. check the specs too, it says over there that the camera come with IR up to 30 meters.
