I bought mine from the link above. PoE Depot as a seller seems to be selling proper US models. I have bought a bunch of Hiks from them (and NetView) on Amazon and 100% good. WR serial numbers, no upgrade issue and on the cubes, the US wall wart, which is a good sign.

Your switch should work. The only things that usually don't work are passive injectors. Of course, if it's not near your alarm panel... You if your run goes next to your alarm panel, you can always interrupt it and split the alarm wires out, all passively (using proper RJ45 connectors).

I second that. If you use them as per the instructions (including stripping a fair length and straightening it properly), the Ez RJ45 connectors are a breeze to do, requiring only ordering the wires properly. Much easier than the traditional Cat6 2-piece connectors, or pretty much anything else...
