Your switch should work. The only things that usually don't work are passive injectors. Of course, if it's not near your alarm panel... You if your run goes next to your alarm panel, you can always interrupt it and split the alarm wires out, all passively (using proper RJ45 connectors).

If that matters to you, the cameras look like hacked Chinese versions. They have xx35 model numbers (Chinese), where they should be xx42 and the listings warns to not update firmware.

I have used NetView before and have always gotten non-Chinese cameras. You should use the Europe website, which is much better organized that the US one. The 42 should use the R6 firmware...

Another option is to script a change in the switch time from a computer/server/NAS. I do let the camera do the switch, but I run a daily script on my NAS to change the time at which the switch occurs.

What is your negative experience exactly on the 2.8mm? I have two 2342 2.8mm stuck in the corner of two rooms and they are tack sharp and offer great coverage for indoor. I also have a 2342 4mm outdoor and it is also tack sharp.
