Got my T180 today (via Andy), but I can't get the ePTZ to work, despite being on a recent version (which it came with):
ONVIF Version 21.12(V3.1.0.1297355)
System Version V3.120.0000000.19.R, Build Date: 2023-03-01
Web Version V5.01.0.1394207
Algorithm Version V3.03.01.0

This camera is advertised as ANPR capable and is showing up on shops quite cheap.. Andy doesn't seem to have it in stock however. So the M$ question: does it truly do ANPR, like the HFW7442H-Z4 or the HFW7842H-Z ?
Up until I received a new firmware update from @EMPIRETECANDY i thought SMD and the IVS human/vehicle detection were the same. But in the recent update for my 4216-I SMD became a distinct configurable/ searchable option under the AI menu.
For now, the 4 camera smart AI/IVS (with human/vehicle...
Agreed, the face recognition (FR) is nothing to buy this NVR4216-I or any other Dahua AI NVR for. But the NVR4216-I is still a great contender if you have an installed base of camera (Dahua or other Onvif) or want to save on the camera's by not buying SMD versions.
I've been running a few...
I have played with Face Recognition on my 4216-I some time ago and it is a nice toy, but not bullet proof in any way. The good thing is that I've not seen it do a false positive (falsely recognize a stranger as a known person). But it very often does not correctly detect a person that is known...
Looks like OpenALPR has a hard time decoding the video signal from the camera. Could be the network link, but probably the encoding parameters (e.g. VBR/CBR, H264 vs H265, frame rate, I frames etc). You may want to try changing those parameters and see if that does anything to the grey picture...
when i just replaced the fan i noticed the housing was coole than before. But i have to admit i havent measured the temperature of the chips on the board etc.i swapped the fan more than a month ago and it has been running fine since, even after adding a other harddisk.
All in all I am quite happy after some failed attemps. Some learnings over the pas 2,5 years:
Doing this yourself means a lot of reading forums, trying and failing a few times before it works
OEM Chinese cams come with horrible and limited firmware
Wireless is unreliable
Creating a DIY LED...
Being an active reader on IP Cam Talk I have been working on my own 'cheap' ANPR / LPR setup for the past two and a half years or so. At the end of the day, it's not been the least expensive option, but certainly enjoyable as i've learnt a lot on cameras, infrared and capturing license plates...
Face recognition isn't 100% reliable, but fortunately I've not seen any false positives (wrong person detected as a known person), just a lot of false negatives (known person detected as stranger). Be aware that the specs of the 6216-16p-I state 4x face recognition and 16x perimeter (meaning...
You need a 12v indeed and if you buy Noctua you get one or two silencers which make the fans spin slower. It's definitely not quiet after this upgrade as the design of the case implies fan noise but it is an improvement:
Be sure to measure + and - as mine were reversed on my Dahua NVR
As for motion detect, I would strongly advise you to get a Dahua cam that has SMD (distinguishing people and vehicles from anything else like moving leaves, shadows casting etc). Not sure which Imou camera's would have this capability at this time.
I am not aware of any Dahua camera capable of...
I upgraded my SD50225U-HNI to this firmware and for Chrome everything seems okay for the browser (no plugins, drawing IVS stuff all works well. Also on IOS de stream works in the idmss plus app (tested directly to the camera and via an NVR).
I totally agree on the tracking. It feels as it it was...
