Zombie Dead Huisun PTZ - $25.00 OBO

I think shipping plus purchase amount would almost equal buying a new or working one of these from ali express or your own area. How much are you willing to pay for something that is broken? Shipping cost would be 40 to 50 bucks I think. USPS has raised shipping cost to the point it no longer...

Zombie Dead Huisun PTZ - $25.00 OBO

I have zombie Huisun PTZ, he died about 6 months ago and I left him up there on the roof. Just finally replaced him with a Dahua IPC-HFW2831TN-ZAS-S2 as after playing around with the PTZ I just left it pointed at my drive way entrance 800 ft away. Well fenderman, I agree with everything you said, except, if you need simple functionality and simple no brainer setup etc. I need to view my cams and I would like motion activated alarm if possible. That is all, but main need is just viewing my cams. I know a cheap but decent dedicated NVR...

Did you try the grounding thing like I said? Did it seem to try and boot up? Sorry to be a pest but I would like more details. Robert

These Hikvision and many cheaper NVRs such as this are based on linux and are very stable. All things considered with the expense of a good PC that would run reliably and stable, I don't think a PC would out perform a dedicated NVR on a cost and simplicity basis. I'm sure there could be an...

    Building Hikvision NVR

hmmm.... The board should be drawing enough power to power it on. If you notice on the regular NVR, the power button is on the power supply. One suggestion and I don't know if this would be valid or not, judge for yourself, use a mounting hole where a screw mounts the main board to the chassis...

Setting up "rack" with POE cameras, can I use a Punch Down?

Concerning this: Can the POE travel through the Punch Down? Any downside to this? Yes the POE can travel though the punch down connections. The downside, each connection increases resistance and voltage loss. Will that matter? How long is the cable run between cameras and the rack with the POE...

    Building Hikvision NVR

Looking up the specs on this model, it actually seems to have plenty of features so it seems it should have decent good performance. Think I'll try and find out what kind of power supply it would require. If I could plug in a regular computer power supply and make it work, I'd jump on this...
