Made the cables. The run is about 220 feet poe and then in the house about 40 feet. It's very possible it's just the tp link switch causing the issues. Just wanted to get feedback before buying something else. Would a managed switch in it's place (non green) work. Which one would you recommend?
I put a generic TP link switch in between the HP switch and camera and I'm not able to access the cams unless I am directly plugged into the HP switch.
Setup I want Cams > HP Switch > Single Cat Cable across house > Switch > Computers
Here is the TP link switch. It's unmanaged and has no...
Yeah perfect line of sight. Could I use aTRENDnet Gigabit Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) Injectorinstead of a switch at the end before the ptz camera if I only need one camera or do I need a switch at the end.
The exact ptz unit I'm using is the SD49225T-HN. It uses 13 watts and 22 watts with IR. It needs poe+. Which one would be best for that, I'm reading some reviews on amazon and I'm a bit unsure if these would work with poe+.
So at the house plug in a POE powered switch to the nanostation and on the other end at the barn do the same?
poe powered switch > nanostation at house
poe powered switch > nanostation > dahua ptz
Is that correct?
Thanks.
I need to set up a dahua poe ptz camera at a barn about 1000 feet away and be able to access it at the house. The barn has electricity so that's not a problem.
I am thinking some ubiquiti equipment might work but i've never done this over wifi.
Thanks.
I'm having a problem with the range of the IR.
I am running this off a poe+ asus switch and I am only getting about 100-150 feet of IR in the fields.
I may have 360 feet of cat6 cable instead of the 325. Would an extra 35 extra feet of cat6 reduce the IR power in half?
I could put an...

It currently is focusing behind the feeder and the animals look very unfocused and blurry.
Is it possible to modify it to focus on the closer objects or should I be looking at a different...
