No hurry, this camera has not been working for couple of months now. It was replaced in my setup when I first bricked it.

This camera is one of twelve I have done the hack on, just this one didn't like it (it was the only one with v5.3 firmware) and is well and truly bricked. If its recoverable at all, it will only be via serial console...
I used the Hikvision tftp server and it did show initialised at 192.0.0.128 buts that all. Nothing else happended.
Didn't appear to be any activity on switch connecting them. Haven't tried to ping the camera. Will try again.

Tried your suggestions, environment variables OK (similar to yours) but when I try to 'update /digicap.dav' it just hangs. Left it running for about ten minute, nothing happens.
Tried telnet after restart.....can't connect to camera.
Don't know where to go to from here.

I have a 2332 camera which is well and truely bricked. It does note appear in SADP and does not respond to TFTP server.

If your camera has reverted to Chinese, it means it's a Chinese camera that was hacked to English. You will need the perform one of the hack here to go back to English.
If you read other post in this forum, you will find that, if your camera comes with v 5.2.8, you should not downgrade below v 5.2.5.
