I've got a new 2CD2432F that came with 5.2.8 firmware onboard and I tried to downgrade it to 5.1.6, which I have running on the other two of my IPCs and which supports my NAS storage properly. Well, after downgrade it went into constant reboot loop. It still capable of updating firmware via TFTP on reboot, but so far none of the code images I have worked (5.1, 5.1.2, 5.1.6, 5.2.0). I don't have 5.2.8 to try either.
I managed to connect UART to it and got a terming log. It looks like it reboots right after starting /home/davinci with the following messages:

Can somebody tell me what's the scoop with it? Is it an unsupported code on the newer hardware or something else?

Thanks. I've installed 5.2.5 on it and it's running now. Although in Chinese only. The original stock 5.2.8 image had English on it. Dunno if it's available anywhere (will ask the seller) or I'll need to revert to one of the hacking solutions posted on this forum earlier. Just didn't expect any troubles with going to an older firmware. Well, i was wrong.

If your camera has reverted to Chinese, it means it's a Chinese camera that was hacked to English. You will need the perform one of the hack here to go back to English.

But all of this hack are unusable, if you want to connect IPC to NVR :-(

I know about CBX, but he is commercial, not free :-( For 8 cams it's nonsens to pay his price.
