    Garbage AI

I want to monitor the times when my three garbage cans are placed in my driveway and subsequently collected. Each can has a unique six-digit number stamped on the front, along with a barcode. Is it possible to develop a custom model to recognize garbage cans and then utilize OCR, barcode...

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

Unfortunately, I'm still only getting correct OCR results about 50% of the time. Getting more mismatches such as D to 0, 0 to O, L to 1 and Z to 7 and some characters just being dropped. What are the units for OCR_OPTIMAL_CHARACTER_WIDTH and how do they relate to the pixel size of the plate...

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

I just switched from DeepStack with Plate Recognizer to Code Project AI running on a 6th gen i5 in Windows. So far it works, but the license plate OCR is not performing as well as Plate Recognizer. There are a lot of mismatches between Z and 2, W and H, 4 and L, 5 and S. Nonexistent spaces...

    Day 2 IP camera foggy

I tried to clean my older Hikvision 2CD2542FWD camera (4MP Outdoor Day/Night Mini Dome 4MM ) circa 2016. Unfortunately, the plastic is in bad shape and could not be cleaned. Can you buy replacement mini domes?

    Day 2 IP camera foggy

It's been a day and despite humidity in the 90's, the picture is still clear. I'm thinking I need to clean some of my other existing cameras because their pictures look relatively poor compared to the new camera.

    Day 2 IP camera foggy

I think I fixed it. I put the desiccant in the toaster oven for 30 minutes at warm. Then I put the bag in front of a small space heater/fan for an hour. I repaired the camera in the same room as the space heater. I powered the camera and let it warm up for an hour before putting it back...

    Day 2 IP camera foggy

I opened it up and removed the desiccant. How do I dry the desiccant (microwave, toaster, hair dryer)?

    Day 2 IP camera foggy

I installed a Hikvision DS-2CD2035FWD-I camera (3MP Outdoor Day/Night Bullet 4MM) yesterday on my garage. The picture looked great. This morning I looked, and the picture was all foggy. I inspected the camera and there is now a discoloration on the lens. I tried cleaning it but it's on the...

change serial number in hikvision DS 72xx HGHI F1/N

I ended downgrading the firmware to 3.4.92. The latest firmware 4.61 wasn't stable. At first, I thought it was working, but several times during the day the NVR would just reboot. After downgrading the firmware, it has been stable, and the UI is significantly faster.

change serial number in hikvision DS 72xx HGHI F1/N

Looks like the correct port is JP8 and the pinout is GND, RX, TX, 3.3V. I'm referring to RX and TX labels on the USB TTL adapter. JP3 produced the following output: U-Boot 2010.06-svn (May 04 2015 - 14:38:38) *** Warning - bad CRC, using default environment In: serial Out: serial Err...

change serial number in hikvision DS 72xx HGHI F1/N

No, that sounds like it would be easier for most people assuming they have the correct TTL adapter and cabling. Which header J3 or J8 on the motherboard is the UART? Looks like pin 1 on both headers is the ground and pin 4 is 3.3V, but which pins are TX and RX? Is the female header on the...

change serial number in hikvision DS 72xx HGHI F1/N

I performed a couple of comparisons. Difference between firmware versions 4.5 and 4.61 on the same board with the same serial numbers. 00090000 000901CB (459 bytes) Difference between same firmware on different boards with different serial numbers 0008F000 0008F201 (513 bytes) 00090000...

change serial number in hikvision DS 72xx HGHI F1/N

I bricked a DS-7608NI-I2 during a firmware update. I found another working DS-7608NI-I2 and copied the firmware using a TL866II programmer. Unfortunately, both NVR's now have the same serial number. I made a copy of the original bricked firmware so I should be able to copy the encrypted serial...
