Oh dear. Oh well, if I have to run a long HDMI one day, I suppose I will just have to do it. Is there a way to use a CAT5e to do the distribution of the video? I have one spare leaving the switch area.

What minimum size is recommended for the standard 2mp starlight fanfare? 64gb? For me that would add about $35 (20 USD) extra per camera. 128 is not affordable in the WD purple Surveillance variety.

By basic understanding is that the card is a redundancy in the case someone steals your NVR!

What sort of lamps are these? Not a common feature where I come from. I could potentially DIY this with low voltage outdoor lights; maybe....

You could potentially put something small on the lens to block that area out from your camera? Try it and see. Like a tiny bit of chewing gum to first test.

They must have had reed switches on something on their alarm with a 'home' mode or something? Or do people use outdoor PIR sensors? I thought those were a no-no.

Quick question; if I get a NVR with POE but later change my mind about having a switch, could I bypass the POE and add a switch while keeping the same NVR? Thanks!
