UK Heat Wave Often Rubbished but...

I haven't been following "the story" that has been conjured up by left-wing "news" (the left wing generates the topics, and the right responds), so my comments are generic. "News" about it being too hot, or something is burning that shouldn't be, or some animal has migrated to a place not yet...

    AI Good and Bad

Agreed, but with the caveat that everyone will have it- with the poorer driven more by it, and the richer driving it. All tools are a double-edge sword. You can be defeated by it, or you can conquer with it. Unrelated on another forum- Man, roofing tech has come a long way since the days of...

UK Heat Wave Often Rubbished but...

Was born around then (1980s), and went 30 years without AC. I can take it or leave it. We have running water and fans exist, so...

Fourth of July | This is how you celebrate

How do I get a hold of these? I'm guessing a trip to Columbia and no questions asked.

    AI Good and Bad

AI said a handful of enterprise drives will reach the used market, but the majority will be shredded.

    AI Good and Bad

I went to expand my storage as I'm running thin and found prices are ludicrous. Decided to de-dupe my data instead until prices come down. At some point there has got to be a flood of used equipment as the bubble bursts, but AI disagrees with me somewhat.

    AI Good and Bad

I'm always wrong about technology. In high school (late 90's), a classmate told me he was setting up a LAN at his house, and I laughed at him asking why, and was his floppy disks not enough to transfer data. A couple years later, WiFi was ubiquitous. Folks were paying a fortune for crappy...

    AI Good and Bad

It's either a flawed study, or flawed in selection bias. A doctor recently installed a heart valve backward at OHSU, with no assistance. 10% of serious health conditions are the result of medical intervention already. It's possible the incompetent physicians are more likely to leverage AI.

    Funny / Satire

Weird considering women rank the average man a 3 out of 10 in attractiveness (men rate the average woman a 5).

I've said that I would pay less to stand on a flight than sit in the crappy economy seats. Roll me into a VR burrito and ship me somewhere for less than economy currently costs, and I'll choose that.

Property taxes should be illegal. In every other scenario, tax is levied as a percentage of gain. Property tax is a penalty for continuing to own a thing, with no end to that penalty. Why not have property tax on your car, tee shirts, and tooth brushes? Continue owning a TV, property tax...

I arrested a guy who smashed a window at Nancy Jo's burgers while I was ordering. He was in no hurry to get away in the progressive city, but I grabbed his collar bone and told him he would be coming with me, and asked if there would be any problems. He said no. When the cops got there they knew...
