That's right... I see you. This dude has delivered here before.. he knows what's up. lol. I laughed out loud when I saw the clip. There isn't much action where I am aside from people taking a walk and kids on their bikes. I wouldn't have it any other way I suppose.

    Dahua DB11 install question

Considering where my original doorbell was, I find putting the DB-11 there, I can't see faces when they ring the bell. I'll need to angle it as well.

Dahua DB11 Summary - is this best doorbell for now?

Also interested in your experience with it. I'm having a helluva time trying to figure out how to get a POE wire to that doorbell area for the Dahua Mini-dome I bought from Andy... if this is a good solution, I have another place to put that mini-dome which I know I can wire up easily enough.

Old DSC Security System - DIY upgrade?

I was thinking about doing the same thing, but ended up with a BAT LTE, so it has wireless (LTE) and internet connections to AlarmRelay.com... no landline. I do however pay $20/month, but piece of mind that I don't have to worry about Comcast's spotty service. They aren't horrible... but I do...

Old DSC Security System - DIY upgrade?

@tangent Just looping back for an update... took me awhile... just life stuff... but I have replaced the old system with the PC1864 without issue. Split some things that were all in one zone out to multiple zones for more granularity of knowing what door/window was opened, etc. Hooked up the...

Blue Iris behavior with bad WD Purple drive

Appreciate the comment.... I've since even purchased some spare SATA6 cables just in case, from CableMatters I think it was. To follow up... WD processed my returned drive, fixed it... sent same drive back. Now it works as expected, on the same cable. Whole process took about 1.5 weeks...

Blue Iris behavior with bad WD Purple drive

Yes, that was something I tried before replacing the drive and saw online a percentage of folks had that issue. Didn’t solve for me. Running on same SATA cable as before with no issues. Firmware was already most recent available. Certainly good things to look at though.

Blue Iris behavior with bad WD Purple drive

Just wanted to relay an experience in case anyone runs into this as well. My entire Blue Iris machine starting locking up periodically. The problem kept getting worse and worse so I started to investigate... as near the end the server would be OK for max 30 seconds! My Windows 10 Event Viewer...

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am using the latest that I can find on the Dahua site.

Dahua IPC-HFW8232E-Z Day Night Profiles saving over one another

Ok, so most of the important things work... IR? fuggedaboutit. But when in color mode.. not worried about that one. Guess I can live with a little non-perfection, as the result is what I wanted.

Dahua IPC-HFW8232E-Z Day Night Profiles saving over one another

Yea, not worried about SmartIR for obvious reasons.. but it was an example of something that kept changing. Well thanks for the reply. I'll try now to see if I don't switch back and forth checking settings... and saving... if it stays put. Glad to know it's not just this one camera... I'll...

Dahua IPC-HFW8232E-Z Day Night Profiles saving over one another

Anyone ever have issues with the Day/Night profiles saving settings over one another? A search here came up blank. For instance, if I change "Day" to color only.... "Night" also changes... and vice versa. If I change "Night" to SmartIR... "Day" also changes. Anyone know how I can undo this...

And so it begins... (darn you ipcamtalk.com members!)

I'm using the TP-Link T1600G-52PS JetStream 48-Port Gigabit Smart PoE+ Switch with 4 SFP Slots Before anyone asks, my justification: I've recently seen it selling for $429. For the cameras I am/will be using there are a few POE+, PTZ, etc., and I'll have some IR floods, wifi access points...
