5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Has I have said in a previous post, the IR didn't work from day one. Eddy at Longse wanted me to pay for the postage to send it back to them (after a number of weeks playing email ping pong and their technician connecting to the camera remotely). I was cheesed off enough with the camera so I...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

one thing I did note, when you select single stream, it defaults to 5mp but using H.265 rather than H.264... something to watch out for. rice

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

I've tried from the min value to the max value, going up in 500 steps. looking at my other cameras, the bit rate seems to go up in multiple powers of 2, ie binary values. wonder if there is something in that...? but, I also tried that theory and it made no real difference! :( Rice

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

I to only use the main stream, so tried it setup as single stream, but it was no better. Also reduced the frame rate to 25fps/20fps/15fps. Still get the ghosting, osd clock going awol and dropping out :sad2: rice

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

Hi bp2008, Did you ever get anywhere with the re-designed user interface? Only asking as the mock ups looked really good! rice

Yup, as provided by klasipca. This still hasn't turned up on the herospeed web site. Rice

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Unfortunately, this camera is advertised as 5mp 30fps and, from my experience, is unable to do this. After reading all the posts on here over the months, I don't think anyone is running the camera at its maximum setting...? This being due I guess to it being so unstable and unreliable. People...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Hi rcirz, I'll be interested in :- i) where you find out what the sensor is as it reports the right sensor in the web interface and ii) what you find! Happy hunting  rice

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

This is something I posted a few pages back. increasing the iframe rate just seems to alter how long it take to clean up the image before it start to "trail" again. i did find that dropping the resolution to 2mp helped with this a lot, however, I still have a LOT of "no signal" alarms. on...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

...think I've got a lemon too! The IR failed from day one. When it is set at 5mp main stream, I get a lot of dropped frames. It is like the camera is running in slow motion, then to catch up it skips a few seconds! Now I've dropped it down to 2mp main stream, it randomly falls over. Like...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

I've been playing quite a bit with the settings. DNR is turned off for both 3D and 2D. It's set to single stream, H264 2592x1944 frame rate from 10 fps up to 25 fps bit rate from 5000 -> 12000 in steps of 500 Tried both VBR & CBR The clock running slow, then dropping frames to catch up seems...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Thanks for the advice. I tried this, but it didn't make much difference. The OSD clock runs slow, then it will skip frames and catch up. It repeats this over about 7-8 seconds. I'm thinking along the same way as you pozzello, you would think the more often the iframes, the better the motion...
